That must be the UK's version of SOPA, huh? Well that's good it was thrown out. Something totally different, I'm too lazy to see the article... |

♥1665 ✿4706 ★50 That's nice for the Europeans, I suppose... though I'm sure just as has been in the US since the SOPA thing they'll just keep trying in varying different ways to push through similar laws...

Posted by Nicole I still get thoughts in my head, silly. I was just going about my ways is all, no harm in such a thing. Eh, I might read it later when I'm actually awake though. |

When that thought in your head is "European parliament throwing it out means ACTA is UK's SOPA", you got problems. |

SO! To re-rail the thread, how long do you guys think it'll be until some other variant of the same old bullshit pops up in an attempt to pass? |

ACTA was among various multi-national attempts to squash piracy. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new one popping up within the next couple of months or so.
Most people didn't hear of ACTA. It gained less attention than SOPA to say the least. The world could always use more heroes! |

Posted by Gywall I was one of them. I've never heard of ACTA, but Piracy? I don't pirate things but I really don't care what happens there, to be totally honest. SOPA was the real bitch of them all though..imo |

Frankly, if you don't care about piracy, get out of the piracy-related threads. |

Posted by RydiaWould you be happy to have someone pretty much, able to watch your every movement on the internet, just 'cause they want to watch you to see if you're a pirate? Well, I know I wouldn't. The world could always use more heroes! |

>>19552 Oh_Boy_Here_We_Go.jpg. Let's not state what has already been stated in this thread. Posted by GywallI already have enough people in my life poking around in my privacy. I don't need the government doing it any more than they already are.Posted by RydiaWould you be happy to have someone pretty much, able to watch your every movement on the internet, just 'cause they want to watch you to see if you're a pirate? |
