The RPG itself will be optional AND it will not show if you haven't played a game yet. You will still earn coins for your account by posting but all other stats won't show until you play. I MAY have like some customizing option for your post sidebar where you can control what shows easier than some of the hackish layouts some people have used in the past.

It may work like this:

-name automatically shows, following group title, and then your title-
[rpglevel]
[avatar]
[postcount]
[exp]
[since]
[from]
[lastpostandview]

And you can edit this field by moving the 'bbcode' like things around. Although this might be an award you could unlock for high customization. You might have lower customizing powers in the beginning which are to move around only RPG related things.

Just an idea. I might mess around with this idea more later.

Also, some separation should be added back to the board header. Having everything in the same table makes it look cluttered, especially on the index page.

Not sure if this will be "controversial", but I kind of feel like the +1 system should be moved from threads to posts (and maybe disabled in certain forums, like the Officer's Club)... as it stands it doesn't get much use.

Hmm, sounds like a decent idea. I know there were times this would be useful to me as well.
Doing so would have the reply/edit button removed so it looks more like a post source view than a real reply/edit.

Umm, yes and technically it would have been but yeah.

The branch never really got most of the features from my old 2.6. The new permission system+group, subforums, badges revamp + editor, some new forum editor, etc.

It might be interesting if there was a way you could get notified when you were mentioned... though I'm not sure where you would have those notifications, and it would have to be optional.

When making a post, a summary of the latest posts in the thread is shown. But clicking "reply" sends to a new posting page, whereas ABXD and Blargboard add a quote instead of redirecting you.

Also, it might be convenient to have a thread summary when editing a post.

Added support for changing group colors per theme. This can be seen Tyty's diet board2 theme. Some of the colors are changed to show up better on a light theme

On most themes, Normal Users and Game Show Hosts have the sane username color. I just now switched to the Diet Board2 theme temporarily and I saw that Normal Users have a darker username color to show up better.

However, Game Show Hosts still have the "default" light username colors on the Diet Board2 theme, which are difficult to read. Also, the username color for male Retired Staff are the "default" light color on the Diet Board2 theme.

Well, there could be optional hidden forum support (ie. public forum not visible through the index page) like in Acmlmboard 1.x.

Since I'm kind of new to PHP, I could only implement a gross and incomplete hack where the index.php page does, well...

                     ." WHERE announce=0 AND f.hidden=0 "
                     ."ORDER BY c.ord,c.id,f.ord,f.id");

And adding in the forums table the column "hidden" that can be set to 0 or 1.

That's due to how it works. You have to manually change the theme file per each group id. I'll get around to it eventually. Mostly I am waiting to make sure no further code changes are in place to make a kafuka fork of it, and frankly other more important server related issues need delt with before the code heh.

The board supports 'private' forums, however AB2.5 uses group based perms to show them. This can be done if you work with the perms. (and if it can't it's not currently supported officially and Kafuka will never have them regardless.)
