I've watched two of Raocow's let's plays of SMBX games.
As an outsider looking in, I am not a fan of the engine at all... Or any of the other knockoff engines, at that. |

~< Outta here. |
The engine itself feels a little sloppy, personally.
The games made with it? Even more so. |

Posted by GreyMaria I personally couldn't disagree more. I was a follower of the project since close to it's launch, I've tested it and played it often back in the days of it's popularity and found it to be very fun and stable. I can also quite safely say it's the most accurate in terms of gameplay, physics and everything else to the official games unlike most other fan-made simulators. Since the day it was taken down, I've not really looked at it much due to the fact there s no community/other people creating stuff for it anymore, 'tis sad. |

♥2044 ✿5118 ★93 I also haven't played SMBX and have only seen it via Raocow, but it looks pretty neat... I should try it one of these days when I'm less busy.
Posted by Taryn The only time I'll bitch about SMB1's physics are the block-breaking in the All-Stars version. It just doesn't feel right, darnit! |

Was not SMB X supposed to have all these other characters like Sonic and master chief as playable?
Or is that some other project I am thinking of? ____________________ Broken layout got nuked. :v |

Well, all the gameplay graphics and sprites can be skinned to your liking via PNGs (with a second masking PNG), so really you can have any character you want.
Also, probably a bit unlikely as of yet, but I wouldn't mind a working on a Kafuka SMBX game with y'all. |

Posted by Ijah I played with SMBX before it vanished. I think it's a nice platform to work with. I think all I got around to doing was predictablity trying to get the firebro to replace of the enemies. Lol. I know.. been a long time but I would be interested in working on such a thing if anyone else still is? The Dynamic Profile Administrator™"Never Knows Best" Note: if you can see this my layout broke. Posted by EmuzPosted by Ijah Despite the last reply to this being from the good 'ol days (last post: Jan. 5) I would still like to do something like that, and hey, even if it's sort of a slowish progress thing at first, it would still be alright none the less as long as people like me have free time to spare. Gives me something to do in my times of boredom of which I'd spend playing games I don't even like ![]() |
