Here is a pretty fatal bug (well not really can be placed via DB) but ipbans.php 500's out. We should fix that quicky...

Also should be added to the nav bar if you have access to it.

Alright. The MR J. clones was causes by a torproxy. The person who did it confided in Ferdal and he wants us to fix it.

Basically it was caused by the fact the CATCHPA doesn't rotate different numbers. If it had, and used a graphic not text it would have taken them a few minutes to do each. Since it was always 42 that made it easy to spam. We should also look into installing anti tor code. I know XKeeper had done so for JUL, and I think we should as well.

Yeah... lol trial by fire is always the best, you learn a lot. :)

As much as Kawa disliked the catchpa we many need one in the future if it truly works for this kind of shit. Maybe at the least we should expand it to have different questions and answers, and parse it using Sukasa's Graphics Lib. I also think we should have a traceable, generated invite system using the e-mail notification system. It would allow a bypass of the cachpa once per invite.. either by hashed crc'd code or link. This way we can truly make it secure and yet easy for invitees.

The more important thing is a way to bounce tor on the register page. From what I've read it's a matter of taking one of the existing ip lists and building a table to test it, like an IP ban.

I managed to once snare most spambots with the most simple trap possible. Generate a code based on IP.. then re-generate it using the exact same method. Compare and block any changing IPs.

I don't know of any internet provider which changes IPs while connected.. other than users sitting on some proxy field.
