I hate talking on the phone, so I rather text.

I hate phones. I always forget to charge them if I bring it with me, so I leave it at home, and my job doesn't let us take calls anyway. (We certainly don't have our own lines at work like every form tends to assume.) I don't like having to literally drop everything I was doing to immediately answer some caller. I sound like a boy on the phone, to the point of getting called "Mr. Burke" by every political fundraising caller in the Pacific Time Zone >_<

I don't like texting either, since I have a dumbphone of the "hit 2 once for A, twice for B, and thrice for C" type. I don't want to spend the money for a smartphone and a monthly plan when I can just E-mail/IM/post at people instead for just the $45/month flat Internet cost.

Email, since it allows you to contact someone even if they're not available at that precise moment.

I prefer text unless I'm doing something that requires either my hands or attention elsewhwere.

My preferred modes of communication are:
friends/family - SMS message
online friends - Skype IM when I'm free or call when I'm playing a game
online friends without Skype - Twitter

I like to be available to people if they need me.

If it's something that needs discussed, I call them. One word answers or replies, text. Unless I'm at work, I'm not the best at replying to emails.

Do Instant Messengers count? If they do, I almost always use them.

It depends on the person though. I always call my parents if I need to talk to them, I text friends who don't go on instant messengers, and I email teachers and important people. I don't like the phone, so I only call my parents really, unless it's something too important for texting, or something quick "Yo, when do you need me over" kinda stuff.

If I know you very well, I like calls, mostly Skype calls. Otherwise I prefer email.

I dislike texting for some weird reason. Don't know why but typing on my phone is so darn slow so that's perhaps why. It slows my flow!
