The code that prevents double posting is based on comparing your last post time with the current system time. When our 'hiccups' happen with the server it seems to happen more often than not. It's worth looking into why, and tightening up the code a bit. I wasn't able to reproduce it on my local server, but it has zero load so we'll need more elaborate testing means. Locking tables under MySQL

Might as well post in here that the View All Private Posts, View All Private Threads, View Private Post, and View Private Thread permissions are not setup in the board software plus they are useless permissions. Why would you have a private thread in a public forum when you can just have the private thread in a hidden forum? Likewise, why would you only want users to see certain posts in a thread? Deleting a post replaces the post with a placeholder that says "(post deleted)". There's really no need for private forums and private posts.

I have the delete posts perm for the Developer Zone forum and the other hidden forum, but not for this forum. Would be more intuitive, yeah. It's like on this board, you don't refer to users by their ID. Don't you agree, user #254?

Well #44, if you scrap the Fields, we could get the freedom to put any Details we want, and it'll improve the overall View (as in, every Field is an own TD Tag), some people jokingly put Derp Values to it (like: "I don't have one", or "Wut is dat?"), making your Profile unnecessarily unviewable.
So, I'm totally voting for scrapping those Fields! |
