I saw the Marathon while it was passing through Brighton/Brookline, but didn't go downtown... my heart goes out to the victims, it's such a senseless tragedy.

I've been following the news, but there doesn't seem to be all that definitive information for now.

Those people behind it really are poor examples of human beings.

First I knew was a world news report update on the radio while driving earlier.
Edit:
The report from BBC News on the subject may be better suited for people who wish to not view as many images on the matter.

Also seems the upcoming London marathon will have increased security as a result.

The world could always use more heroes!

Holy fuck.

Terrorists are the world's most rotten lowlives, true wastes of carbon. People who feel they need to kill and permanently cripple random, innocent people in order to prove some idiotic political point of theirs. Hopefully they find out who did this.

Looks like a lot more potential bombs were discovered too. Someone wanted to kill a lot of people.

And one of the deaths was an 8-year-old kid, too. Someone just starting to make their way in the world, born after 9-11 and perhaps not knowing much about terrorism other than "that word they say in the news sometimes", now dead because of some shitfucker with a bunch of bombs.

The world is depressing.

It is rather depressing, but I tend to try and think positively in times of tragedy. How many people are there in the world? And how many were there at the race? A few people wanted to kill people, but the number of people who ran in to save the wounded was exponentially larger. The number of people who are good outway the bad, and it'll always be that way.

On another note though, shedding the optimism a bit, I fucking hate conspiracy theorists. I've already heard someone go "IT WAS A PLAN BY OBAMA, WAKE UP SHEEPLE" completely unironcially. If you say "sheeple" to me unironically, I WILL punch you in the nads because it's completely idiotic and so are you.

Motives are usually involved in terrorist attacks, sooner or later someone gives the claim. Then again sometimes false claims have happened before, such as the Oslo bombings that happened awhile ago.

I was watching more on this all day today, they updated it and to those who dont know i guess they said it was something to do with bb's and nails. they also mentioned black nylon bags and such so hopefully they get further into this. it is sad to see such lowness in people, interestin to follow though.

Last numbers I saw were 3 dead and ~170 wounded. (many of the wounded very serious, the bomb seems to have been designed to cause as much damage as possible with shrapnel...)

I don't know how you can say whether it was a terrorist or not... (I would generally say anyone who would bomb a civilian event like this must be doing so to cause terror, but as far I know we really don't know anything yet)

From what i heard nobody knows yet if it was a terrorist attack or not. They all believe it is though but are still trying to find out if it is domesticated or foriegn.

Looks like they've identified the suspects- one died in a shootout yesterday, the other is on the run. It's very chaotic here- the entire region is on lockdown, public transit shut down and no one is supposed to leave their homes. (Also my internet is unreliable)

Yeah i saw that today as well. That really sucks that you cant leav anywheres, they also mentioned if it wasnt by gunfire that he died, he had bombs strapped to him, and his brother ran him over to get away, so... either way he is dead.

If you actually gave a shit and read news articles, you'd know that an estimated two hundred shots were fired in a brief skirmish wherein the suspect was indeed on a boat.

The suspect was on a boat, but it was a boat in someone's yard, not a boat yard or in the river or anything.
