I'm doing a hard mode run of Metroid Prime right now. I have never played hard mode Metroid Prime; it's definitely living up to the title. I was getting my shit wrecked pretty hard earlier. Right now, though, I'm almost done with the game -- heading back into Phazon Mines to take down Omega Pirate. I have basically everything I can get at this point and I still have a feeling that I'm gonna get creamed. (I keep using so many missiles. I'm actually kinda worried I won't have enough for Omega Pirate.)

Looks like there haven't been any new members in a while?

Hi, folks. I joined because of Tr-- wait, he goes by Archer here, right; we've been friends for a while and I, uh, guess I never bothered making an account here until now? Yeah, something like that. Anyway, this place looks pretty quiet, but I'm sure I can find something here. Heck, there's a ROM hacking section, so that's at least something to dig around in.

Hi Phyresis! ^_^ Welcome to Kafuka!

Yeah, we don't get new blood too often here.

Eh, could be worse. I kinda like small places, anyway.

Hey Phy.

Welcome to the DANGER ZONE!

Hopefully with you around, I'll get in the mood to post again.

That reminds me, I really need to watch Archer. I have the first four seasons sitting on my hard drive...

Well, hopefully I can be useful in some form or another.

Oh Hello new blood! Really odd to see someone new. I hope for activity, maybe that will give me back the spark I need to get my posting motivation back.

Are you a heavy poster at all? I'm not really myself, but I have set the bar for highest post syndrome and posts.

Wooster+ @ 352 posts in 24 hours. Shamefully though I know a small part was spam..because I realised most of the questions I asked were ridiculous.

Nonetheless, welcome to Kafuka! :)
Jeez, it seems like everyone's having the same problem here!

As far as being a heavy poster... well, sometimes. I try to join in the discussion as much as I can. Sometimes, though, I just... lapse into not being very talkative. I mean, I'll try not to do that, but sometimes I just don't have a lot to say.

Happens to the best of us. Sometimes I don't even post, sometimes I post and get first on KCS. It's all random I guess.
I guess so. I'm subject to wild motivation swings myself. Like, I will not care about something for inordinate amounts of time, then out of freakin' nowhere, just be all over that shit for almost no good reason. (Happened to me a LOT with PSO in particular.)

Well, I think you already know where I stand on this. I am certainly down for this if we can get a group going.

I don't know if I can say I technically sleep on a bed right now, since my mattress is currently sitting out in the TV room that is... really supposed to be for the whole family, but I'm the only one who uses it lately. The big reason for this is that our A/C was broken for a while, and my fan was keeping me up at night. Without it, of course, it was too hot, so basically I hauled my mattress out here, where there's a FAR quieter ceiling fan. Now I won't slowly bake to death! Always a plus.

Baking to death... that's what I was doing this night. No wonder I never actually slept.

I really need air conditioning. :<
It's definitely worth seeing to that as soon as possible. Seriously, it is completely worth it.

Actually, that's not a problem. Use the charge beam more often. It has more than enough force to keep things away from you in most cases. Also, don't under-estimate the power that a charged Ice Beam shot has. One of those and a single missile often works for things which take a lot more.
It's not so much the enemies I'm worried about (most of which are immune to the Ice Beam anyway, except the Metroids and (natch) the Ice Troopers, who are still a hilariously ill-advised enemy) so much as Omega Pirate. The enemies are all pretty easy (although it kinda hurts me to see that one super missile no longer one-shots Power Troopers). The charged Plasma Beam actually does pretty nicely against Omega Pirate, which I'm glad for, seeing as, even with a capacity of 245, that was my primary concern as far as missiles go. In fact, I think that the Plasma Beam may be even better than the Super Missile in this case, which is great, meaning I can save that for the Power Troopers when they show up.

Welcome, Phyresis. I see someone's read Rare Candy Treatment.
It's been kind of a while, but definitely. I've always really liked this particular Diglett image, and have just kinda always liked Diglett in general, even though it has such a simple design.

Welcome! ;) And yeah, I haven't really been motivated to post a lot for a few days. But that could change, though.
I think more activity might help, since this place is pretty quiet, right? Although I did wake up to a decent number of new posts on the board, to be fair.

Mario Maker was also announced and that will be coming. Really makes some of our websites and hacking tools useless now doesn't it? Maybe.

It wont. Mario Maker is not a level creation tool. The creator of the app said to not view it as a level creation tool, more like an app to haven fun (kaizo levels galore :P)

Not to mention its really limited.
Plus, even if it could supplant what we currently have, we could just try and make something more, right? Push the limits of what we can do until they break?

Not that that's necessarily feasible.

I caught Girafarig earlier today. Or was it Porygon2 and I'd caught Girafarig yesterday? I DON'T REMEMBER ANYMORE ):

That's okay, both of 'em are pretty cool.

EDIT: I just caught a Gastly. I think I will name him Rick.

Cars are not cuter than bunnies. They don't even have fur.

Cats, on the other hand, are the cutest things ever.

^_~
I would try to find an image for the sake of humor, but I imagine Google Image Searching "furry car" will bring me to some, uh, questionable results.

and perhaps even birds (I knew someone who was a fan of various birds as pets)
Birds only have two possible modes: cute enough to cause diabetes, and really damn horrifying.

Welcome to the board, Phyresis! We desperately need the activity :P I'm busy with work, some RL stuff and electronics repair but I still find time to post here ^_^
I'm nowhere near that busy, so hopefully I can help with the activity matter.

I never even used the Missiles against non-Omega Pirate stuff. I just powerbombed them as they spawned.. Yes. I saved the Power Bombs for that. ;)

The highest damage-per-shot is the Ice Spreader combo. It's slow, but it certainly packs a punch should it hit its target.
I'm gonna go ahead and try the Power Bombs again. For some reason, I think they weren't really working against the Troopers, but if they can be taken out by those, then that's great, since I have all of the Power Bomb tanks and that would mean that I wouldn't have to resort so much to my strategy of "kill one, then focus on Omega Pirate". (EDIT: Yeah, no, I'm pretty sure they're immune to Power Bombs in hard mode. I just dropped two on a group of them and they didn't react at all.)

I never really think I had any realization of how good the Ice Spreader is, probably because I really only ever used it against Metroid Prime itself.

I've noticed that he summons a LOT of Wave Troopers. Which is fine, since even though, yeah, they typically take six charged shots to down, the Wave Beam charges pretty fast compared to other beams, I've noticed.

Also, I think I can safely say that this is the biggest jump in difficulty that I've noticed from normal to hard mode so far.

EDIT: I beat him, after dying probably as many times against him as I had through the entire rest of the game to this point.
