Hmm.. let's see. I think it should be an OpenBSD kernel with a GNU userland. We'll call it Polarity Shift. With Shifty the "security" polar bear. We'll also have it run Wayland since it's new as we need to be on the bleeding edge. (getting it to work with the OpenBSD kernel will take some effort). We'll also use a varient of the Debian package management system, however we should add robust support for compile-upon-request. (Gentoo/FreeBSD packages style; allows for super optimized and controlled output).

I think we could use some kind of project to bring in users. Jul has TCRF, but we don't have anything like that to attach to the board.

Yes and no. It's one of them yes. However AB is too niché to really get a lot of traction on it's own. The site could benefit from something new. I just haven't had time to really do anything. Everyone's open to suggesting project ideas.

In order for it to be something that would have legs, it would have to be a grand ROM hacking project in the scale of LM or Newer. Nothing stops anyone from one for fun though..

Hah. Admin forums are where communication goes to die.. All the stuff on this board in the public area.

Ironically the goal of the AB 2.1->2.5 project is to have enough flexibility to where you could host forums for small groups/projects. One could give them completely separate permissions to manage their forum(s) and you can even give them a private forum that only they and Admins could access. (Heck you could actually block them too if you wanted. Only the people who have explicit moderator permissions and root could get it at that point (however that is just a plain old stupid idea. heh) I am hoping one day Kafuka can take advantage of that functionality. Oh well if not at least it can
