I would say in the gaming section. I would almost suggest the first one be SMB2/USA as we have a few members who haven't seen it before..

For those who didn't get what happened the last 30 hours or so. We had an impromptu event. The theme was decided about two weeks ago. Sit back as I poorly explain what happened. (if this thing will not post for no reason)

*yawn backstory* You an ignore this part if you wish. Go make yourself some tea.. and scroll down a paragraph or two.

For the new year I wanted to change the background layer of my "Emuouise" avatar to something different. Randomly I decided on Phantos. So I created the avatar with the animated background from SMB2/USA SMAS.

I also updated the one in my layout to match. So you get something like this:


A little bit of time later @KP complemented to me "the mischevious way Louise looks" with the phanto mask. He suggested a day later.. well "Why dosen't someone do a layout with Gene being chased by the phanto?" Than our wheels started to turn. and.. that's how it started.

While he was working on his layout I had started some coding on the board and came up with the event. This was the first time the board actually gave out badges. That seemed to work out...

Oh and if you haven't figured it out.. the "Phanto syndrome" is due to you having the key badge. This badge was obtained by clicking the SMAS SMB2 key sprite. There was a reason it said "and I think you should put it down..".

The sprites selected of course are due to the main theme of the event. "Phantos" and "Bob's Burgers". The sprites consisted of various phantos, the key, and the Belcher family.

I've restored the sprite system to normal. The Phanto syndrome will still be in effect for a short time. After that the Key sprite will no longer give out the badge. Everyone who participated will keep their badges.

I'm hoping start using the badge system more. Hopefully as soon as with the pending winter's mosts.

Now how will I make my voice lower on my current budget of pocket lint?

How about 95% Achl. by volume Everclear in a nice 64oz blatter buster. It's the "Dead body" maker Is that real enough?

On the flipside we do happen to have water from a 25 year old snow globe that just broke...

I just don't get around to playing games much anymore. I really want to play SM3DW. I got to play some of it at my brother's. However I usually stick to the 16 bit era when I do sneak a game or too. (My hacking efforts have always been SNES driven so it makes sense)

Heh, actually I'm already not quite sure if I've chosen a good username. It was hard to come with something creative as I didn't want to use the (VM) name Kak64 on both Jul and here,something like RedDrunk (imgur), or my YouTube account name. The only thing I could remember is my rarely used TvTropes account UseKi. So, I've made some "maths" and Kak+Useki=KuSki.

Oh well, I'll take it for now. I'm also keeping a counter on how much time I accidentaly call myself Kak64 here.

Oh yeah.. Welcome aboard! If you read the backlog I give out cookies usually. Unfortunately all we have today are dirt-laden E.T. 2600 cartridges. I would recommend the water from the water cooler instead.. (unless you want to corrupt the hell out of it ;D)

Thanks for the etymology lesson about your name. It confirms how I was going to pronounce it when I give you a shout out in my SMB2 LP for making the request.

Now all I have to do is let my voice recover from being sick really bad earlier this week.

EDIT: How do I grammar? Me thenks me du et gud.

I do have to be clear for some unknown reason.. the original pronunciation was with a 'zee' not 'zed' sound. "Em-yu-zed" is hilarious though.

Over the years the pronunciation evolved to be more often 'e-muse'. (happened during the I1 days. @Mesia had influence in this.. (Hence my personal domain emuz.us or "emuze us"

Oh, I checked, and it does have a spell checker, but I'd need to either have the English version or I'd need to change some other hidden setting.

I use FF (or Fx for you anal ones in the crowd.) and while it's spell check is sometimes hit or miss, it works. Often you have to trigger it via the right-click menu. Also you don't have to worry if it's a minor issue like spelling..
