Thought I'd chime in on this (Also hi).
I'm not opposed to all guns, but rather, assault weapons. If you want a gun to protect your home, that's fine. If you want a gun for hunting, that's fine. If you want a gun for sport/target shooting, that's fine. You don't need an assault weapon to do any of those things. A pistol or a shotgun would suffice in all of those situations. While pistols, shotguns and the like are still convenient tools to murder people, it's not the same as using an AR-15 or some other automatic weapon. It's stupid that people cling to their assault weapons as if they're some kind of necessity, when at the end of the day it's not a necessity at all. |

Given how many times Jamie has left and come back, I doubt this is permanent.
Jamie, if you're reading this, I used to be going through a similar thing you went through on a board similar to this one and I caused a lot of unnecessary drama. What ended up causing me to stop being so addicted to going to boards like this was moving across the US and going to a new school where I was much busier than I was previously and where I made supportive friends. I'm not saying you have to move and start life over, but I think your problem stems from too much free time to worry about stuff like this. That was the case for me. What I'd recommend you do is try to start being more active in real life. Given things you've said in previous situations like this, it definitely seems like you're dealing with depression, anxiety, or a combo of both. Find a local support group for people with depression in town and join it. Not only will you be occupying yourself in the real world, but you'll meet friends along the way who will be there to support you and in turn improve your confidence. I know it doesn't seem like anything will be better and you'll be stuck long into the foreseeable future, but take it from a guy who wanted to put a bullet in his head, things will change. -Feeling kinda meh rn, my senior friends are graduating this weekend. Its kinda bittersweet; It sucks that I have to say goodbye to them, but I'm glad I got to spend the time with them that I did because a lot of them helped me out a lot when I needed it.
-Now that summer is almost here maybe I'll spend more time on this board? |

Random topic but eh.
Just went to Prom for the first time this past weekend. It was hyped up pretty big so naturally I had to wonder if it lived up to the hype, and to be honest, it would have if I picked a different a date. The problem wasn't entirely my date, but mainly one particular person in the group who fucked up everything (thankfully she's graduating soon). The group consisted of me, my date, someone from outside my school, and the person who fucked up everything. My date is kinda awkward like me so whenever that one girl randomly wandered off, so would she. I didn't want to be a dick and ditch my date so I just followed along. The girls would just look at their phones for extended periods of time while I'm just sitting there like "Should I do something?" An hour and half before we had to go I was already done so I just drank a shit ton of Shirley Temples and made the best of it (We were at a nice hotel in Boston so it was fancy as shit at least). The bus ride back to campus sucked; We were all huddled around that one girl while she was messaging some creep on Snapchat and telling us about her hookup stories. Meanwhile, people across from us were making out, so that's nice. It was honestly a pretty shitty night and I didn't get much out of it save for some cute pics with friends and some dope pics of Boston at night. I'll probably go next year, but I'll be sure to pick a date with a less problematic friend group. So, I pass the question off to you. What was/were your prom experience(s) like? Good, bad or in the middle? |
