I'm not sure if I should count from 2:30 yesterday when I woke up or just since midnight, since I haven't gone to sleep yet... But...
I just got off the phone with Gamestop about an order I placed last week where a package was marked as delivered by UPS, but was missing. They're in the process of getting replacements sent out to me. The games were Katamari Forever and Rayman Origins, both for PS3. I also asked them about my copy of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, which I ordered the same day as Deadpool (which arrived as it was supposed to) and the games that went missing. The guy told me that they're waiting for their warehouses to get the game back in stock... Part of me wants to believe him, but another part of me says "This is Gamestop, he's just saying it to placate you." Only time will tell. |

"I do not rightly know," Zissou responds to Bel, "I would assume he would be grateful and would overlook our transgression."
"As for the spell, I would assume it would not work on electronic locks due to the spell affecting moving parts, such as tumblers." He says, turning his attention to Sapphyre. "As for learning the spell, it should be easy enough due to it being a basic cantrip, requiring nothing more than a brass key for spell focus." Returning to the other topic at hand, "As for Miss Caionna. I would suggest leaving her to her own devices for now. She will return to our midst when she is ready." |

The lock system itself isn't very assuming, just three separate mechanisms in the form of a pin tumbler on the knob, a deadbolt, and mortise lock. There isn't any kind of magical energy being produced by the door. It should open easily. |

The door seems to unlock without a hitch. Almost too easily for anyone who knows Zarik. The door is ready to be opened, but it seems to give off an ominous presence due to the ease of access.
Zissou comes out around the main building as well, and joins Bel. "How did it go?" He asks. |

"As I said before we came outside," Zissou begins, "I do not recommend bothering her until she is ready to return to the group." Pausing for a bit, he says, "It is best for your health. Trust me."
Looking to Bel, he says, "Well, I do not suppose we will be getting anywhere unless we attempt to go inside." He motions for the door handle, but the door mysteriously swings itself open, revealing a rather large tread golem with an LCD screen on its torso. The screen flickers on and begins to playback the 'welcome' video: There is little beyond blackness in the area surrounding the visage of a young man with jet black shoulder length hair, hazel eyes, and a soul patch goatee that appears in the spotlight of the camera view. The speakers on the sound card of the golem crackle as the man speaks, "Just what do you think you're doing trying to break into my lab? I'm pretty sure I told Cai to tell people to stay the fuck out of the shed! It's a good thing I set up this little defense mechanism just in case one of the guests figured it would be fun to shove their nose into my business. Now I get to shove your nose into some shit!" With a confident laugh, he concludes, "Good luck, buddy." With those last words, the screen winks off and the golem groans to life and lurches toward the trio just outside the door. Once in the light of the outdoors, it becomes clear that this isn't something anyone wants to mess with: It's equipped with several fully articulated arms that sport a number of different classes of weapon. The camera lens on what appears to be the machine's 'face' whirs and whistles as it gathers focus on its targets. It immediately takes a swing at Zissou with its morningstar arm. Narrowly dodging the attack, the Nu Mou growls, "I should have suspected as much from Zarik. He does not play well with others and have a problem sharing his toys!" Grasping his staff, he begins charging a spell. His gaze is locked on his target as he gathers focus. |

Zissou doesn't respond. His focus does not even allow him to invoke talking as a free action. An indescribable aura is beginning to emanate from him as his spell charges.
(OoC: Yeah, just imagine it's a giant humanoid with giant tank treads instead of legs. Gotta wait for Trap before I can do the outcome of actions and end-of-turn stuff.) |

Zissou's spell finishes charging as the aura seems to be absorbing the light from the surrounding area. "Inscript the dark gods into a rotting body! Flare!" He cries out as an immense pulse of energy flies forth from his staff. Instead of a flashy light show of explosions and bursts of light as is the propensity of the spell, it instead gets absorbed by the golem. In turn, the monstrosity amplifies the spell and hurls it right back at its caster and his allies.
When the smoke clears, the old man clears his throat and says, "You were saying, Belgarion?" Sapphyre's sword harmlessly bounces off of the tread and a force field pushes him back. The golem winds up and unleashes a whirlwind attack by swinging its arms wildly around its freely rotating torso. |

The golem takes the shock from Sapphyre as if it were nothing at all and counterattacks with a discharge of electricity of its own, targeting the group much like the returned Flare.
The machine groans slightly from the perceived increase in weight, and only sinks on its suspension. The increased gravity only seems to increase the energy in the momentum of its swinging attacks, which are slowed significantly, but seem to have afterimages following them. Knowing that most of the actions he can take against the mechanical behemoth before them, Zissou decides to take up the support role for the battle. Applying some quickening metamagic on his spell, he calls out, "Shining light! Protect us from all directions! Protera!" The four men become surrounded by a faceted bubble of protective magic. Working in conjunction with what energy is left in Belgarion's shield for himself, its caster, and Sapphyre, it should help dampen the increased might of the golem's physical attacks. Unfortunately, this is the only protection being provided for Adel at the moment, so he is more vulnerable than the others. The foe's sensors detect the change in the environment surrounding it, as well as the bolstered defenses of its adversaries, and changes tactics slightly. The monitor flickers back to life with a large black "3" on a red background. While beginning this countdown, it winds up for yet another swing with the aforementioned momentum boost. |

I needed a mood avatar for battle-centric posts for the roleplay, in which my characters are the most important aspect of the post. I thought this fit nicely.
Kinda makes me think of Gengar. |

(OoC: Just as a quick gripe... During battles like this, I would prefer if the characters involved would only post once between round updates. I'll let it go this time since it was mostly chatter, but keep it mum from here please. And I meant the color scheme the way I said it. Zarik doesn't follow those kinds of conventions and does whatever he wants.)
The golem sinks through the portal and begins its free fall. The timer on its screen reduces by one and the colors invert. A warning siren begins blaring from it, though it's uncertain if it's a warning of imminent self-destruction or approaching terminal velocity. Either way, it doesn't look good. Zissou shakes his head and says, "Why did you not try this sooner?" With a sigh, he says, "Let us just enter the workshop and find something inside. However, I suggest doing so with caution. There is no telling if there are more security measures aside from this behemoth." |

It's hard to say. It will do everything the current models do, but better... As well as have exclusive software for the beefed up hardware.
They've done this before. Just look at the previous generation with the DS Lite to the DSi. The DSi had better features and had exclusive software too (DSiWare and several camera-based titles). If anything, it's a half-step generation. |

Yes. The Shy Guy was stuck there and walking back and forth in the wall. |

I reported to work for a half hour today because my shift manager called me earlier and insisted that I was needed at work on my day off.
THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME! |

Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary in the workshop to the cursory gaze.
Stepping through the doorway and tapping his staff against the floor to illuminate the crystal, Zissou warns, "Things may seem calm within these walls, but if I know Zarik... He probably has something hidden that may pop out at us. Be on your guard." With that, he steps into the main room of the building and waits. Meanwhile, inside the tavern, Caionna finally comes out of the back room. A new set of runes imbued on her body. They are illuminated and noticeable on her face and hands, as they aren't concealed by her robes. Noticing the distinct absence of Zissou, Adel, Bel, and Sapphyre, she questions, "Did I miss something?" |
