Under a government funded health care system like the one I think Marzen64 was talking about, there would be no need for people to buy their own health insurance. The health care needs of the public would be payed for with tax revenue. Under such a system, government negotiators would have a lot of leverage to bargain with pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and doctors for lower prices. As a result, the needed tax increase would be less than insurance premiums it replaced, except for the wealthy, who would be in a higher tax bracket. Furthermore, getting rid of most private medical insurance would greatly reduce the cost medical billing, which is notorious for requiring a lot of red tape. |

I thought that the "h" class was for table headers. |

Here is the specs on my current computer:
Motherboard: Abit AN8 SLI (used to be a KN8 SLI and before that an AN8 non SLI. Both were destroyed by lightning.) CPU: AMD Athlon 64 2X 4200+ Memory: 3 GiB DDR Video card: PNY GeForce 6800 128MiB Hard Disk: Maxtor 6L200S0 200GB SATA Optical Drive: NEC ND-3540A DVDRW 16X Sound: Sound Blaster CT4830 (dug this one out of an old computer I had laying around. Linux didn't like the sound card that came with the motherboard.) Mouse: Logitech M100 Keyboard: Micro Innovations KB400i 108 key OS: Debian wheezy/sid amd64 I also have an Acer Aspire 5610Z laptop that I don't use very much. I replaced the hard disk with a Western Digital WD2000BEVT 200GB and installed Debian on it. |

Well, in less than two years pre-existing condition exclusions will be against the law. |

I might be wrong, but I think that is the first time I have ever placed in one of these going back all the way to 2003 when I registered on I1. |

I'm subscribed the go-nuts mailing list, and when I checked my email this morning I found that there is already a tool to download the whole comic.
I'll give it a spin later. |

I use the default ringtone that Verizon Wireless puts on the phones they sell. I have found out how to install new ringtones without going through Verizon. Sadly, the Turkey in the Straw ringtone I installed was not loud enough to be heard reliably, so I changed it back.
The text tone is never heard, as I have SMS and MMS blocked. I was getting messages intended for the previous number holder and even more spam. On top of that, very time that happened, an extra charge was added to the bill. |

To the best of my recollection, I have never cheated on a test. In fact, I once saw enough of a test key that my teacher left on her desk to read one of the answers. When I got to that question, I worked the problem as if I did not know the answer and got it wrong. I knowingly turned in the test with the answer still wrong. I had a firm A in that class, so I didn't really make a sacrifice. |

What a coincidence. Aaron Swartz's blog post on improving productivity was just on the HN frontpage within the last couple of days. It might be useful. |
