Opinions on sphinx cats?

Why would you deprive an old man of his ice cream?

Okay, here's my pitch:

- A chibi style cat character, similar to a maneki-neko. I feel that a humanoid character wouldn't capture the aesthetic well enough and be too limiting. Also, a larger character with so many people working on her runs the risk of the overall design looking too "busy".

- That said, a simple accessory or two would work well. I specifically recommend a wizard or witch hat with a light fire style trim, kinda like this. Maybe throw in the bunny ears as a part of the hat if there's room, and you're golden.

- I really like the idea of the phanto mask. It's a great callback to the boards original romhacking and video game roots. If an actual mask can't be incorporated somehow, a simple t-shirt with a phanto mask on it could flow really nicely design wise.

The design might sound a bit simple, but simple doesn't necessarily mean lower quality. In this case, a simple design could result in greater focus and a broader appeal for everyone, as many other popular mascots have.

Not necessarily. I'd like to believe the people here are a bit thicker skinned than that.
Some kind of anonymous vote could be done if that's a concern, but this would just be for fun anyway. Who's to say every active user doesn't get at least one item added?

That's not too bad. I would still suggest having the phanto mask design on the dress somewhere. Some kind of video game reference seems as key to the design as any other element, IMO.

Light purple would contrast better, I think. Plus, given the heavy female admin and mod influence around here, using that as a trim color would fit.

As for the dress or hairpin for the phanto...why not both?

The item suggestion thread would be the idea. I just want to vet them before putting in is all. However not all would be chosen. There would be items 'close to another' or similar etc. Plus I'd like to keep too many over powerful items from being obtained.
