Bel watches the argument unfold and end, face-palming about halfway through.

Bel: I take it you two are finished with your pointless bickering then? Good. You're right I don't like that plan. I should punch you in the face for putting her at risk like that. Like I said before, I was just about to tell Cai that we shouldn't split up no matter what, but I didn't even have time to open my mouth before it actually happened. Even if the idiot that took her had managed to escape empty-handed. I could've traced his location with my staff. To be precise, I could open one to that plane but I wouldn't know where the exit would be. Given that we know where he went now, it's a bad idea to open a portal there either way.

Also, where did you get the idea you could plan a certain amount of danger into a...well, plan? That'd be an estimation at best.

So...we have what, a black dragon keep and a counsel to get rid of? Aside from the higher-ups there who's already been mentioned.

Bel steps forward to greet Aren while at the same time taking a good look at the man before him.

Bel: I'm Belgarion. I've been with Zissou, Zarik and Caionna for a long time now. I'd explain in more detail but we don't really have the time for that. I was with Cai when she got abducted. But the only reason that happened was because Zerilisk got the drop on me. If I knew he was there, I could've prevented it.

Also, I'm itching to hunt some great wyrms. And Zerilisk would be the appetizer.

Bel turns back to Zarik to adress the armament issue.

Bel: Speaking of repurposing. How much time do we have to convert the equipment to use by us? Can it be done?

Bel: Here goes nothing then.

Bel snaps his fingers and his attire changes into a bare-bones, long robe with long draping sleeves, a golden gilded belt that's a bit thicker at the front, decorated with a red gemstone, and a cowl. The robe is black with a thick, golden trim, a row of faintly cyan-glowing runes and then another, thin golden trim that follows the edge of the cowl and the upper part of the robe all the way down to the brim. The cowl is secured with a bolo clasp, also gold, and with a + mark in the center on it, along with three drawstrings decorated with a faint simple diamond pattern. At the end of the shoulders are a pair of golden, jagged spikes, like gilded flames that goes along the back of the robe, almost to the center. The upper back of the robe also has a faintly glowing intricate dragon-wing pattern.

Fastened to the bolo clasp, hanging down the center of the robe almost all the way down to Bel's feet and secured beneath the belt, are two more strings with golden trims and faint runes on them. The inner sleeves of the robe are just a simple black color with thin, golden trims at the brims. The shoes are of a simple, yet comfortable leather design with a very thin golden lining of runes near the bottom, just above the soles.

Bel's staff changes into a simple dark gray one that seems to be of some metalic-looking material. It has an ornate, golden knob at the bottom and about 2/3 up, a moderately thick, ornate golden shape spirals up along the staff until it reaches a golden nut of some sort. The top of the staff has two small, golden dragon wings arcing upwards until they connect with eachother. In between the wings sits a purple orb. The staff is about 130cm long.

The pommel of the sword is a rounded, upside down arrow-shape with a blue jewel decorating the tip. The hilt section of the sword is a simple black, round shape with some leather wrapper around it for better grip, until about 2/3 of the total length, where it turns into a 3-shape on both sides when reaching the guard. The middle of the guard has a slightly rounded geometrical diamond shape with a blue gemstone inserted into it. At the bottom-left & right of the gemstone, or depending on point of view is a web pattern that connects to the sides of the guard. The area of the guard closest to the center starts out thinner, with a slightly rounded horizonal shape, then turns into a wing-shape arcing up on each side.

Below the gemstone is a T-pattern with rounder outer lines and a large V-shape below it, intertwining into a diamond shape before shaping into what looks like a thorny branch with a sharp tip at the start of the blade-area. The blade itself starts with a wide arcing shape with round indents on each side. It becomes thinner down the middle until it ends with a wider, diamond shape with rounded lines at the tip.

Bel: Horseback? I'd rather be in a carriage but that's me. It'd most likely be slower anyway. Either way, I don't much like riding horses but if it gets us there faster, I won't complain. Much.
