Favorite childhood show(s)?

PBS's Arthur is definitely way up there (fun fact-- the books were heavily inspired by the town I grew up in), along with Nickelodeon's Rugrats. Not sure where we're putting the cutoff of "childhood"...

hm... you could code it, then have no "real" avatar or a blank placeholder, and put CSS trickery in your layout to move an image there where an avatar would normally be-- of course it's be fragile as hell, and anyone with layouts off couldn't see your avatar... but it's not necessarily impossible.

Could a Sega Genesis or SNES be run off of D batteries? ;)

The Genesis power supply was 9V 1.2A, the SNES 9V 850mA (call it 0.8A).

A single typical D battery has 1.5V and can provide 4.5 A for 1 hour. So 1.2A for 3.75 hours. We'd need 6 D batteries, in series (so same 3.75 hour battery life), but in theory, yeah, you should be able to do it. You'd also need an adapter.
