A post count is a post count to me. Any post counts toward it, private, staff, game, general, topical, or serious forum.. matters not. That's my opinion. It's different when it comes to the ACS, and it should be. That's a contest.

Could be the load at the college if that is the case. We have peak times here that the wireless network and wired network goes odd things under extreme load in the Student Union. However nothing like you've experienced.

Now if your not experiencing anything at the dorm, but do you at home. Could be something to do with the home router..

I actually am quite fond of the find control that BH's system gives. I would like to preserve it in a new sessions system. However I'd marry it to your approach and have both a "Normal" and "Advanced" mode. Present the basic options that you spoke of, than an advanced mode allowing a ranks to be put in. I have funky but consistent IP ranges and I would need the fine control of the old system. Thoughts?

I know a little bit of both. I was able to get a little bit of hacking going with SMAS back in the day, but I stopped short since I ended up switching to my RO endevers so I never was able to give it the time fully grasp it.

As for the Higher level languages.. I know C/C++, and some other unixy scripting languages. However I don't feel that I have enough skill to consider it anything more than "Some". I am good with reading existing code and debugging/improving but not anything from scratch. I know a lot of people are starting to use C# a lot, but I've never really played with it myself.

I think this is a cool idea, and it would help accelerate the creation of other editors by having that library and reference point to start from vs. from pure scratch.

I would recommend sticking with '*' for the wildcard since it's already so on the board, and it's more commonly used vs. the SQL '%'. But yes you got the basic idea.

The e-mail idea is good. Also it allows us to implement a system of confirming with e-mail, and maybe support down the line the 'bad weather day' system of staff approval. (also post reporting and all the other good things that can happen with it)

This as to do with BH89's cookie system a few years back. It basically takes a subnet mask of the machine you login to. If you attempt to access the board and it doesn't match.. it logs you out. lcookie.php If you set it to * it won't do that to you. The developers and I talked about it tonight a bit tonight too.

The exact reason why I don't know, but the basic idea was to help secure people's accounts and add a hurdle for spammers.

Yeah. The Avatar is a "Dalek Vision" on the cheap. I had about 15 minutes to slap it together.. I remembered I didn't have any Doctor Who Mood Avatars.

I really enjoyed the episode. As most people who are fans of Doctor who I like all the Dalek centric storylines. I figured out what the final story of Oswin would be shortly after The inital landing on the planet. It shall be interesting to see how the Daleks act next time they appear.

So I'm going to make this thread as spoiler so we can just talk openly. If you want to talk about this episode or the next episode we can start a little of that too..

The exact reason was to render a login cookie useless if someone stole it with a cross site scripting exploit. I think that Board 2 was hit with one some time back, perhaps during the months following the split.

Indeed. It seems to be a contrived way to cause a little bit of well lack of a better word "drama" during their absence. It seems odd that they couldn't resolve the conflict without a divorce. It was related to the inability to have children, and the Rory character would not overlook it easily. I don't know. Indeed I hope Oswin does make a reappearance. She was adorable... we shall see.

Agreed. We need a preview mechanism for sure. Yeah AB1 schemes are by nature are very different. If we're missing as class we should implement it. What we can do is with the old ABI schemes we can fix it to use it, ans the the ones built for the board that doesn't have it, just make the class identical to row1 (or row or whatever it is as I am not looking at the CSS at the moment) . Than if the authors of the original themes want to use it they can update the theme accordingly
