Posted by Jet Actually that's false. DVORAK was made with ergonomics in mind. So was QWERTY, but the idea was for it to be anti-ergonomic. Typewriters get fucked up and broken if they're perfect ergonomically. Spring keyboards are the best, and I'd like to at least learn DVORAK one day, but having used QWERTY for my whole life... I feel like it'll be a nightmare. And I won't get to hunt and peck. And how long would it take to recover my typing speed? My QWERTY sped is probably around 100 wpm or something silly and high like that. I'll bet at DVORAK within a month I could to 50-60. ____________________  |

I'd rather it be transparent. That way it blends perfectly into the layout. The outline could be white or something instead. Then when you've got a message it cna actually be filled up! ____________________ |

I learned about that QWERTZ after one of my German friends was complaining about the hotkeys being a bit off in Ragnarok Online.
"why is it my key for ZED is switch with the Y?" ...and we went over this for about 5-10 minutes until I had him read off the letters on his keyboard finally and figured it out. Yay! ____________________ |

For me, with how fucked up my left wrist is, it's definitely worth it... but I would have to do it on a separate keyboard, and not with my main keyboard (which is of course my laptop). ____________________ |
