Madou King Granzort. It's the second-best platformer on a console with two platformers!

It's actually decent enough. But I don't think it would get any attention if not for the whole "on a console with six games" thing.

The Xperia Play. See, in the early 2010s, people were just convinced that cellphones were going to eat handheld gaming. And now Sony was making a major push to do just that.

Nope, I only got my first cellphone in 2005 I think? And I think by that point the N-Gage was dead in the US. (Also, we didn't use a GSM network)

And anyway, the first cellphone I got that wasn't a bog-standard flip-phone was in 2008... which was the Palm Centro.

Best pre-NES game consoles?

Hardware-wise I guess the Commodore MAX Machine, if you count it as a console; and given that we usually count the Odyssey², I don't see why it shouldn't?

I mean, the VIC-II is debatably inferior to the PPU (smaller color palette, worse resolution in 4-color mode), but the SID is debatably superior (more flexible synthesizer channels, though the NES has more and has dedicate sample capability).

Of course, the MAX machine has like, two games (but hey, they're by HAL!), and was released only for like a week in Japan for some reason. So on that note that there's better options...

The ColecoVision was also pretty powerful for its time and had a decent game library. The Atari 5200 would be a good option if it didn't come with an awful controller. And I mean, the Vectrex is kind of its own thing, but nothing before or since has come close when it comes to drawing straight lines at any angle.

Same here. I can't stand heat, which makes summers here pretty bad since NC is so damn humid during the spring/summertime.

Fall/early winter is the best time of year. Nobody can argue otherwise.

Up here in New England I'd say late spring/early summer (basically, June) is the most pleasant time of year; it gets too cold too fast here in the fall.

I'd also recommend that, assuming the age in your profile is accurate, you avoid threads marked "NSFW" like this one Though I guess it doesn't really matter, nothing NSFW has happened in here for ages and all the old images are broken

As for hacking Super Mario World, neat; I'd recommend you check out SMW Central for that but I haven't been paying attention to them lately so I don't know if they're worth recommending still...

Just a clarification point. It's quicker to ask me on IRC, as you can guarantee I'm likely about. If I'm not on IRC, then I'm asleep, at work, or just plain unavailable for whatever reason.
