♥13906 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by Danielle I'd say so. Up there with the Mario coin sound and the Zelda "get item" tune. |

♥13907 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by DarkWitchClaire I was going to say the Japanese repeating onomatopoeia words like "doki-doki", but while writing this reply I realized how amusing the word "onomatopoeia" sounds, so let's go with that one instead. |

♥13909 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by Danielle Posted by DarkWitchClaire Nope to both; I think he realizes that both me and the brush are necessary for him to get brushed, never seen him try to brush himself |

♥13910 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by Danielle You know what, I'm going to say the TMS9900 as used by the TI-99/4A. Sure, it's a fine CPU on it's own-- a competent 16-bit CPU in an era where home computers generally had only an 8-bit CPU. In this case, the CPU is suffering the curse imposed on it by the motherboard. 256 bytes of RAM-- and that includes the processor's "registers", so it's even less than that if you want to compare it to later 16-bit CPUs. Literally everything else on the board has to be accessed through an 8-bit to 16-bit converter, which takes four wait cycles. Including all your program ROMs. (And let's not even talk about GROMs, which take additional cycles to choose an address) But it's worse! The system does have extra RAM, 16KB worth, but it's only attached to the video processor! To access it you have to go through the 8->16-bit converter to in turn access ports on the video processor to put in the address to finally get to your RAM. This motherboard curses the TI-99/4A to have some of the worst performance of a home computer in the era, despite having on paper one of the best CPUs. |

♥13911 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by Danielle I really want a PowerBook 100 Because it's Sony's take on the Macintosh Portable, and an official Apple Mac designed and produced by another company is not a common thing. Also the Pismo is pretty sweet with those organic lines; really feels like the culmination of Apple laptop design up until that point, and then they went off in an entirely different direction with the TiBook (the direction they're still in today, really) |

♥13912 ✿4735 ★68 It was warm today so I made a pasta salad, which I associate with summer-- basically just pasta, cucumber, red onion, and hard-boiled egg in a bowl with salad dressing and lots of mayonnaise... I guess this is my white american heritage :p |

♥13917 ✿4735 ★68 Posted by ゼンガー・ゾンボルト The Gotcha boob controllers. Look, I've seen a lot of boobs in my day, and only rarely are they just domes like that, give me some meat to grab onto-- let alone the bright pink color I mean ...uh, anyways Posted by Danielle Yeah we had one that looked like an Atari 2600 joystick... fun thing about that was that the joystick did not move at all, you pushed on it and it did register but there was no travel-- I was stunned when I later got my hands on an actual Atari joystick and it actually moved, what a wonder |
