Yes, and a lot of people had Wiis in their homes, even beyond the normal gaming crowd, where the NES was still reletively niche, even given its popularity. This gives a massive consumer base of people to buy the game, making it sell better. And that's before the bundles that had the game with it.

All this makes me believe you never actually played the game, and only read about it. It is an exceedingly different experience that has similarities only in the sense that is a side scrolling platformer with similar characters.

Besides, we weren't talking about "better"...only "different". If you can, play the game and see for yourself.
