Posted by TrapsterYeah, but it will depend on the scenario of the tournament. That depends. Most definitely. I refuse to play if the Evasion Clause is not in effect (no moves that raise evasion can be used) due to asshats that like to run Sandslash, Cacturne, and Garchomp with Bright Powders and Double Team on their sandstorm rosters. It's unwin-able, and incredibly unfair. |

@Trapster: All of the Pokemon that learn Haze either suck or can use the move slot much more effectively. I'm pretty sure I've already discussed this stance with you.
@Rydia: Learn to build teams. Legendaries, more often than not, are proof you suck. @Aesur: I don't agree that all legends should be banned. Some are legitimately balanced for a fair metagame due to either having average stats or a poorer than average move pool. Ban Togekiss because I know how to use it? Sir, you wound me. |

My team is ready. Anyone who has battled me in a GenV battle knows what I've in store, assuming that's what the consensus comes to.
We still need one more user or else someone gets a bye to the second round. Which isn't fair, because that puts that person in the semifinal unopposed. |

Seeing as a few personal things really mashed my berserk button today, I decided to dick around a bit in a few games and get a feel for them.
I started up Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and did some early game stuff, and I really don't know what to think of it yet. It has an interesting feel to it, but I find it hard to get into. Not sure what it is, though. Growing bored quickly of FF:CC, I booted into Arc Rise Fantasia. This is one of those games that really makes me think if I like it or not... There is some seriously fucking weird shit in it. The cutscenes look really nice and all, but the voice acting is fucking terrible. The voices themselves are fine and seem to fit the characters that I've met so far fairly well, but the lack of proper emotion as well as overall flatness just feels really phoned in. As for the characters themselves... They're alright-ish... I can't really pin down which of my three current party members are likable yet. L'arc is a bit of a snarky asshole that I can relate to, Ryfia just seems like a retard, and Alf... I dunno, he just got introduced to him, so I don't have much of an opinion on him yet. According to L'arc's snark, he's a naive and overly nice person. I've only been playing for a little over a half hour, and it's already thrown one hell of a head scratcher of an analogy... As L'arc and Ryfia are leaving the forest, it begins to rain despite the sky being clear, which is odd in and of itself. When Ryfia calls it to attention, L'arc says the most off-the-wall batshit statement I have ever heard, and I quote, "The devil must be beating his wife." I had to fucking pause the game for a few minutes to let the absolute dumbfounding pass. There just are not any words to describe how fucked up that seemed to me. Here is an accurate representation of my ex EDIT: I Googled it... Apparently it's a common religious phrase in England, Germany, and Sweden about bad omens. I still find it weird as fuck, though. |

Posted by TrapsterNot that I can think of, I was going to take a poll of opinions and decide what clauses to enact from there. We might even switch it up between tourneys if there's a diverse enough set. Under no circumstance will I allow any evasion increases by moves or by combination of Bright Powder and Snow Cloak/Sand Veil, however, use of one or the other (Bright Powder or Ability) at a time is fine, because otherwise the abilities of Froslass, Sandslash, Garchomp, etc. would be pointless. Speaking of Garchomp... I realize it was tiered as Uber in the Gen IV metagame, but that was because of the item/ability combo in addition to its high stats and impressive move pool. With the expanded evasion clause I just presented, I don't see any issues with using it. That stated, I still won't be using it, though I hope that everyone doesn't get the idea to have one on every team. Just remember, I pack a lot of Ice. |

Oh wow... I would casually say "What's up, @Hiryuu?" If I actually knew you. Since I came around after you disappeared, I really only know of you from what I read in the Board2 staff area when I was still over there.
BUT! That's not important. Welcome to the crew! I hope you stick around this time! |

Ugh... I hate how hardware developers think in base 10 when they market drives and other discs. I just got two 32GB microSD cards off of ebay (I posted when I got them the other day, too) but the Wii, PSP and laptop only see 29.4 or so because of the whole factor of 24 that got chopped off.
Why is it so hard to make disks in binary measure? |

As much as I can see how it bugs you, you have to give them credit for at least feigning a faithfulness to the actual data space. Nowadays, they don't even try. |

Posted by LilianaI know, right? I wasn't expecting the burst of activity when I logged in from my phone here at work. I'm really glad to see so many familiar names, even if all I know about a few of you is from archive diving. I really hope you all stick around and join us in our misadventures around here. A warm welcome to everyone! |

Are you saying using Double Team is a dick move, or are you saying that banning it is?
If Double Team/Minimize/whatever is allowed, there is too much risk in it being relied on for cheap wins. It gives the user an unfair advantage after two or three uses. Sure-hit moves aren't reliable enough to take evasion abuse on. Arceus is definitely banned because of being 720 stat with a broken move set with the ability to essentially STAB anything you give it. Quite simply put; no. |

Posted by TrapsterThe Kanto birds, Johto beasts, Celebi, Regis, Jirachi, Sinnoh lake guardians, and Unova deer are my personal list I like to allow. They're balanced in the respect of stats, and their move pools are restricted enough to only have a few viable sets. |

Posted by LunariaPhione is fine, although, it's hardly worth use due to how poor it is overall. 480 stats and a lukewarm move pool doesn't do it any favors. Manaphy is definitely banned due to Tail Glow being broken as all fuck. |

Posted by GywallI only named two, and they're both actually fair to use. Celebi is crippled by its Grass typing, because all it does is weigh it down with unnecessary weakness. Jirachi isn't nearly as broken as people seem to think it is. Yes, its Steel/Psychic typing is a major boon in its favor. However, its move set is deliberate in making it a flincher, and it does everything else rather poorly. Not to mention, it's the only Pokemon I can think of that can pull off a physical para-flinch. Its 100 in every stat makes it merely average in all fields, just barely good enough to be considered sweep material. The paralysis part of its combo is the only thing that gives it movement advantage over speedsters like Dream World Blaziken, which could easily one hit it with Blaze Kick, anyway. Posted by RydiaYou seem to be missing the part where we're not going to be playing on the real games. This is an even playing field where everything is available to everyone, no one has any advantages over anybody else just because they put more time into training their Pokemon than the next guy. This is entirely based on how well you can formulate a winning team based on having everything easily at your disposal. Ergo, using legendaries in this because you use legendaries in the actual games is flimsy justification. Bear in mind, if you're talking about using the ones mentioned as fair use, you're more than welcome to use them. I'm just saying "No Mewtwo, no Lugia, no Lati@s, etc" |
