NoScript + uBlock Origin is one of the best combos to prevent ads or otherwise malicious content.

Though an extra program (ie: standalone MalwareBytes Anti Exploit) doesn't hurt.

Yeah I used to use AdBlock Plus but switched to uBlock Origin instead, lighter on resources but unfortunately has issues with some sites like Twitter

Jul had those Project Wonderful ads and I3 also had Google ads but other than that, I can't remember any times of boards having advertising ;)

Kafuka is actually hosted on a potato with the cost being 1$/year.
It's a good thing Acmlmboard is lightweight. That is why it's not noticeable.
