Well, the problem with politics threads is that most of them are filled to the brim with 13-15 year olds that don't know what they're talking about but the fact is this community is mature enough to deal with debates so I think it could work here  ____________________ Good riddance! |

By UN order, Jerusalem was supposed to become an international city, but instead in 1948 after the Israeli War of Independence it was divided between West Jerusalem, which was the newer part of the city and fell under Israeli control, and East Jerusalem, which had the older part of the city (including all the holy sites) and fell under Jordanian control. Arabs and Jews were expelled from each other's parts of the city. No one outside Israel and Jordan recognized either annexation, which is why everyone pretends Tel Aviv is Israel's capital. It's just a short drive away anyway. In 1967 Israel conquered East Jerusalem along with the whole West Bank. The West Bank they haven't annexed, but they did annex East Jerusalem, and have been encouraging Jews to move in and Arabs to move out, often by controlling building permits and demolishing Arab houses. The Palestinians have always said they want to have their capital in East Jerusalem; but the Israelis have also always said they'll never give up any of the city. It's been a big sticking point preventing peace. So the concern is that by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Trump is basically recognizing Israel's annexation of the whole city. This makes it impossible for the Palestinians to have their capital in the city; basically, it's seen as a blatant example of the US favoring Israel over the Palestinians, even though Trump previously said he wanted to be neutral so he could make "the ultimate deal". |

Damn...
It's a shame a lot of people have came and gone - it's going to be strange when people who are around my age now and when I'm in my mid-20s or so, come along and the cycle repeats for them... Kafuka is going to be one of those forums where the activity will probably take a lot to be decreased, given most of the people here are over 20 already, as opposed to boards like GBATemp, where most of the active users are in their mid-teens. For me, I measure a forum's activity by its regulars and participation in the community from everyone as opposed to statistical measures like total number of posts. Kafuka is probably one of the best examples of a community where the regulars and the less-regulars post in the community aspects. ____________________ Good riddance! |

Generations and statistics very nice! I’m on K64 too, but I like hanging out here. I mainly go for K64 because of the Romhax. But I get a sense of belonging every time I visit Kafuka more that K64.
I wonder what this place’ll be like down the road, especially without Dani/Robbie/Nicole. They bring the energy to this forum and I sure as heck am feeling it.
