Now with photobucket going down the shitter and making you have to pay for hosting and destroying layouts, you might be wondering what options you have left. Sure, there is Tinypic and the 30 day imageshack free trial but those aren't good options. Here are some pros and cons.

Pros:

1. You just need to register, upload the image, grab the link and then paste it in.

2. You can usually change the size when grabbing the appropriate link (such as forum url or direct url)

Cons:

1. You are usually limited on space.

2. Images can't exceed a certain size.

3. Tinypic may choose to become a paid image hosting in the future.

4. Every time the imageshack trial expires, you'll have to download all the images, delete the account, and then re-sign back up, and then repeat the process which can be painstaking when you have a lot of images plus there are storage limits.

To overcome these restrictions, there is one other option, hosting the images yourself. You might be thinking "Great, now I have to pay a sh*tload of money just to host images." Well, you don't have to. Just go to epizy.com, sign up for your account, then go to cpanel.epizy.com, and then upload your images and then link to them using a url like this; http://yoursite.epizy.com/example.png and viola, free image hosting. So you don't get your account potentially deactivated for hosting just images (It's a possibility. Read their TOS before proceeding), make a simple html site. And that's how you get truly free image hosting.

what was the actual point;

you could've just said Imgur and your own hosting space

I need to put something here

I think he tried to make a joke post

as you can tell, it wasn't a very funny joke, because it didn't really seem like a joke at all

ByetHost and its clones seem to implement cookie tracking on every site, even for files. Plus they shut your account for no reason.

Just get yourself a webspace for a few quid a month.

@Kawa THAT LAYOUT <3

I genuinely thought it was like all of his other posts, 'Custom backgrounds (what to do if you see one)'

It's funny because he failed to not make it serious, which I guess was not intended.

It was something to do with a thread regarding 'what to do if you see someone spam CSS on an AcmlmBoard you administrate'. It's a very obvious thing, just use Inspect Element...

Staple was right about the thread 'fucking sucked', because in all honesty it didn"t make much sense... It could've been a joke since every living object with a brain cell knows about 'Inspect Element' and how to at least touch a row in a MySQL table.

I bet he tried to be funny, but it genuinely wasn't. It seemed like he was being serious...

I know the one and only innovative image host:

Pro's

-Your images will stay for the eternity
-You can embed them in posts
-Is funky
-Can be hotlinked

Cons

-Takes up a bigger amount of space
-Nowadays sites don't like it so much
-You don't need URLs

Its name is...

Base64 encoding

Yep, that's it. I sometimes use it when i need long-term images.

Base64 encoding is still an image host, you're just sneakily using Kafuka as your image host :P

Yeah, but there is no way for the image to go down without the page going down.

Also, it won't work for huge images. It'll just get cut off.
