To be honest, the RPG system is so bare-bones.


But it's existence could still be an extra bit of fun.

One older Acmlmboard did have a battle system which was ever so screwed up in balance. There was a "must have" class, so nearly everyone was a Paladin. I think there was like three of us who devised a "Paladin-Killer" build using the Assassin class, which was the only other viable class.


Not every system needs to be balanced to be fun. Besides, you need some time for a metagame to develop depending on how it's done.

Just curious, do you happen to remember what that older board was? Because I remember it to, albeit vaguely.

I don't have a problem with such a change if you guys want it I just know I can't code it. (I'm too busy working as an Admin for Team Rainbow Rocket. Since I work a full time job on top of this new part time gig. bwahahaha)

Mostly you should also think about what you would want and do an overhaul all at once. The system works well but it has room to grow. (Don't ask me how.. but I know it's something that isn't a major part of the board that could be made even more elaborate for fun purposes.)


Now that the big E is here, I'm making my suggestion here once again:

I would love to see a completed user battle system using the RPG stats.

I've seen other Acmlmboards implement this in the past, so I know it is possible. I also feel that this feature would add something a bit more unique to the board that you really don't see anymore.

The KCS overhaul seems interesting, but I don't feel it would add quite as much to the overall user experience like this would. Does this have any real chance of being implemented?


Sorry but RPG system was never really my thing. If Acmlm was here he'd be your man. Plus to be honest this is a web forum, if you try to add too many things that conflict it causes issues. The RPG was a novelty to post, and keep posting. Really at this point Kafuka is good on that front. The KCS/ACS/*CS

What I think could work in a similar manor would be a separate game altogether that gives you bonuses for your level and exp on the board. If anything that's what Graal, Gunbound, and tRO ended up being for the board in the past (without the board based bonuses)

I never knew such a thing was possible, but you're right; something like that would certainly scratch that itch. The question is: what games, and how would they be implemented?

How do you collect "Monthly Points"?


Monthly points are just your total points for the month so far. You earn Daily points based on your rank that day. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 7, and so on

If you look at the January 5th post, for example, Dani had the most posts that day, so she gets 10 daily points, which get added to her ongoing total for the month. I came in second, adding 7 points to my total, and so on.

Make sense?

I've just been thinking, and I realized another board I'm on has the inverse of Kafuka's "reign" pattern of posting. Here, someone shows up, drives up posting to a ridiculous level for a few months, and then fades away. For example, the reigns of Rydia, KuSki, and so on.

There, a troll shows up, is crazy for a few months, then disappears. And just as they disappear, a new one appears. It gets...interesting.

Interesting theory. Yeah it's odd how it works. I think also the people who stay on this board throughout are passionate and loyal. What drives them is not the ebb and flow but their interactions with their friends. "The theory of web forums in 2018". Anyone doing a doctorate in psychology? I got your topic right here!! :D
