I had to grapple onto the wiki throughout the entirety of my first play through it all. It does take quite a lot of wiki-searching, same as Minecraft.

I plan to do some videos of Terraria with my friend, who just got the game and has never played it before. It's sure to be a fun time of "WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO"

I'm inclined to agree, but it DOES have things in there to tell you what to do if you don't wanna wiki dive. The Guide gives you lots of hints to help you start off, and if you show him items he shows you what you can craft em into. He's kinda like an in-game wiki that doesn't explain shit.

The guide tells you all you need to know since before 1.0 He can show you all crafting recipes for any item you show him. As well as giving a few beginner tips if you want to listen to it.

You don't need to wiki dive! :P
I did myself anyway since I like to know droprate % and such.

I've had to recreate my world several times to keep trying, because the retard keeps running into danger and getting himself killed, while I stay protected in the hovels I create.

He respawns Trel, no worries. Also, there's a button shaped like a house. Press that, then click in a house you're trying to build. It'll tell you what you need (Or it'll just say the spot is unsuitable, in which case it's not an enclosed block yet)

Technically he doesn't respawn. You get a new guide with a different name. Same for the other NPCs, I think.

Huh, odd.... Maybe you need a functioning house? That may be the reason why he didn't come back, but they DO respawn.

Tried burying the guide alive in a soil cube? Worked for me.

We've been playing since about 1.0.2 I believe. We don't keep the same world for a long time though haha. Let me know if any of you would like to join sometime. Last view: 4281 days 		Terraria is okay once you hit a certain point in the game (until you craft decent items and get double jump and faster movement), but until then, the game feels dramatically slow.

Probably why I've only had the one character. >_>

I haven't done any of the new stuff in 1.1 yet. I restarted in a new world and got a bunch of new shit. Then I was all "LET'S HUNT FOR HELLSTONE" and decided to drink an immunity to lava potion. It doesn't grant immunity to having to breath.

So I haven't really played since then. I'll probably start a new game with a friend though, then I'll fight the Flesh Wall. The dood seems tough though, Hell is very inhospitable for a boss fight.
