Why do desk designers assume that 50cm is fine for a keyboard shelf to fit "all keyboards"?

Is mine just too much of a behemoth?
For awhile I was looking for a keyboard shelf that would be large enough to fit my Tandy 1000HX underneath, so I didn't have to prop up a monitor on the system itself-- that's quite impossible to find, though....

Checking the dimensions, it'd be tricky, but not impossible. (Assuming what I found is correct)

I actually ran across a number of desks which would fit what you're looking for, but I did go through 100 pages of items on Amazon.

Ah, I didn't realize you were referring to desks, I thought you meant those shelves you put your monitor on and can keep your keyboard underneath, on top of an existing desk...

What gives with antennas, and why are some like $100 or something? I've heard that joke you pay for miles of range and that a $20 antenna only gets you 20 miles while the $100 gets you 100, but is this true? ;) (trying to find a decent outdoor antenna for around $50-$75ish)

Been downloading the update to Ripcord at the blazingly fast speed of 46KB/s.

I so love this connection.

Heh, I find it rather funny how I use an HP brand monitor and Lenovo brand keyboard on not one, but two Mac Minis (one of them PowerPC :P)

thing is, the connection speed limit is arbitrarily defined

the real speed is around 1-2MB/s, but it usually never goes that high unless I'm browsing a few set of Google websites (I don't get this)

The UK's market was mostly for one company having a monopoly. BT was not only a big provider, but also owned the majority of the infrastructure.

BT was forced to split from its infrastructure company - OpenReach. That's eased a lot of the problems.

If you didn't want BT's infrastructure, your only alternative is in Virgin Media's network. It's still like that a bit though.

the speed where I am is a lot faster than usual, but it's fairly restricted. in contrast, the upload speed isn't, meaning that usually the upload is faster than the download.

for reference, the connection speed at home is fairly standard (550KB/s DL; 40-50KB/s UL)

yea i heard bt were giving openreach priority support to bt customers etc. as well as not making much effort to do shit with the infrastructure. hence the disband from bt. at least its better now, i guess.

Probably, even if i'm stubborn and greedy so I only connect to wi-fi.

I have to say my connection is pretty fast tho.

That's correct. The industry regulator (Ofcom) received a complaint from TalkTalk, not just customers. It's why Ofcom forced them to do the split.

probably; the most my phone can get to is H+.

4G LTE was also an option coming as an extra, but it just didn't work
