Hm, let's see:
  • Main laptop: Mac OS X "High Sierra" 10.13.3
  • Windows laptop: Windows "10" 10.0
  • Apple iPhone 6: iOS 11.3.1
  • Old tablet: Windows "Vista" 6.1
  • Apple IIgs: GS/OS System 6.0.1
  • AMIGA 1000: AmigaOS 3.1
  • Tandy TRS-80 Model 1000HX: MS-DOS 2.11
  • Panasonic FS-A1F: Panasonic DESKPAC/MSX-BASIC 2.0/Disk BASIC 1.0
  • Atari 130XE: XL/XE OS Rev 2
  • Timex Sinclair 2068: T/S 2000 BASIC
  • Apple ][plus: Applesoft II
I think there's actually no overlap between this and @"Nin★Collin"'s list, assuming the MS-DOS versions are different... that's amusing

The time it took me to crash Vista is the shortest of any Windows OS. Managed it in just minutes.

if it was RTM, then try SP2.

7 is Vista SP2 with minor changes and was sold as a new OS bc Vista had bad rep due to RTM/poorly done drivers

it was better received only cus RAM/power was easier to get more of than in 2006

Phone: Android 6.0
Laptop: Windows XP (I don't use it anymore, the damn thing's ancient I'm amazed it even still powers on)
Desktop/Main PC: Windows 7 Ultimate

I've been shying away from Windows 10 for like 3 years, I've heard it's really good if you can disable all the bullshit extra software/features and crap like that from Microsoft but I'm lazy and stubborn.

I can reinstall at any time since I tried it out when the upgrade was free though. Has it gotten better over the course of 3 years?

It just shoves more shit in your face. No different.
Also you need a Enterprise W10 to disable trash easily AFAIK.

Yeah I remember hearing that you need a specific package for that from my dad, he uses computers a lot in his work. Supposedly if you don't have it then whatever changes you make will be automatically reverted by the OS after the next update.

I have heard of people doing that who don't have enterprise version tho, so idk.

Windows 10 is just such a turnoff because to me it feels more like a service than a product. I feel more like I'm in control with 7/XP/etc.

in my opinion windows 10 seems to have gotten a lot better, it's less interruptive and when it asks to update it always gives me the option to make it update when i tell it to

Windows 10 laptop, I only upgraded because Win10 isn't as crapo as Win8.

I disabled updates and tracking junk early on, or at least the ones they allow you to stop. I still kinda doubt they give you full control anymore.

Ah ok, well at least it has that basic thing down now. I might give it another go eventually, but I'm afraid I might not be able to easily revert back. When I first installed 10 it gives you an option to revert back to 7 if you so choose within a set amount of time after the installation and idk if they still do that.

Well the fact that they allow you to stop any of that crap at all is at least refreshing.

They don't and never did, it revert back after sometime I think.
Also, in the case of W10 spying sniping, it's best to use a closed source tool, FOSS could be easily looked at by MS...

I dunno if they allow disabling this much on newer updates. I stopped updating after the few updates meant to stabilize the OS, because the next major updates would fail to install. it was a pretty good time to stop, it's stable and fits my needs.

I'm pretty happy I did that. frankly I don't need those updates, you can even patch the security ones yourself I hear.

as for wether Microsoft is spying on what I do, I don't really care. they're logging activity from too many customers to check on anything I do.

The fact they use preventing terrorism as an excuse half the time is pathetic since they didn't stopped things happening most of the time

I really don't care about the tracking thing to be honest, I'm more concerned about just being able to freely control the OS to my will.

If you're that concerned, Debian is a thing.
