people got so mad over ikachan existing, it was ridiculous

and nowadays on kafuka we have all these giant sprites that cover a third of the screen when they show up and no one seems to care, lol
The difference is, Ikachan cannot be dismissed on Jul. The giants here are click & bye. Also, they're not guaranteed on every page load.

it was nice when it was small sprites imo, like 16x16 or the occasional 16x32/32x16/32x32

got a bit ridiculous when it started to be giant sprites, there was less of a game of 'find the sprite' as it was just plastered in your face

On the inverse, the system is biased so that larger sprites are rarer to encounter.

The large sprites started as a bit of a joke about how people called Mother Brain huge.

I probably should find some new sprites at some stage. Something smaller.

welp

I only have something comparable the github issue where someone is optimistic enough to ask it to be disableable.

Surprisingly, nothing. I'm boring, I know. Well, I guess I am sort of wondering if I should reinstall Skyrim. . . . I used an exploit for 20,000% better sneaking and got bored of admiring sewer rats close up without worrying about getting my face bitten off.

I'm trying to figure out if I should wear shoes or not while practicing the organ o_O

(I know organ shoes are a thing but look I'm never going to be good enough to warrant playing anything bigger than this spinet, and so it seems like a waste when I won't have more than an octave to work with)

I'm trying Linux Mint, for some silly reason. I'm familiar with Linux as a server OS, but not so much as a desktop OS with a GUI and everything...

It's actually been kinda fun? Cinnamon's not as bad as I expected it to be (and in retrospect I'm not sure why I thought it'd be bad). I'm surprised at how well it works and how not awful looking and not buggy it is so far. I don't know if I'm brave enough to start using it as my main OS, though, but it's good.

I wonder what the newest machine is that can run Windows 2000? I suppose a ThinkPad T400 or other late Penryn system could be worth a shot :P (nowadays I tend to prefer Windows 2000 over XP)

Early gen (2008-2009) netbooks with the 945GM chipset work I think

Danika do you know how nicely that one plays with WinME? In case I do get one some day for whatever reason :P

I want to get a Vista era gaming laptop with Vista SP2 HP x64 but most are broken or unreliable... I did have one (the Dell XPS M1530) but it broke in 2016

T23, T30 and T43 are good with Windows ME (have actually dual booted ME and 10 on a T43 before, heh :P)

I'll have to look into those models when I get some money as an adult :P

Windows ME is brilliant when it was actually had drivers for it written on the hardware and not just "98SE but will also work on ME", I used it in a VM and it felt nice to use so deffo not an OS side issue why it "was crap"

My dad ran his business for most of a decade off of Windows ME; for what he did it was stable enough and got his stuff done.

Of course, he's pretty old-fashioned so did most of his stuff on pencil and paper...

Windows ME wasn't the worst OS ever, provided you didn't use bad or incompatible drivers ;)
