Hmmmm... depends. A good tragic backstory that actually contributes to the way the character interacts with the people around them and gives them deeper motivations? And gives them something off of which to grow and to learn about themselves? Yeah, I like that. Basically, it all depends on how well it's being written, but it can be used to great effect, so... I'll just say "yes", generally speaking. |

Can I vote for "...of The Dead"
No? I think I mentioned further back in this thread that I like Treehouse of Horror IV and VI, so probably those are the best Halloween episodes. I can't think of many others that stick out to me as worth remembering off the top of my head. I liked Invader Zim's when I was a kid, but I have no idea what I'd think of it now. And I don't really care for most of the Robot Devil episodes of Futurama actually, except for The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings (which is like one of the best episodes of the entire show). |

When I was a kid? I loved that one. It was one of my favorites.
I actually haven't seen Invader Zim in over 15 years, except I briefly watched the one about Zim being forced to be a fry cook in like 2014 ("The Frycook What Came From All That Space"). It was okay. |
