The reason there with Mozilla.. So true. Firefox with major updates seemed to lose more and more of its own identity.
In Honesty, I think that Pale Moon does a better job of being Firefox, than Firefox itself. Last time I used it, it just felt like it's become Chromefox. At least Microsoft kept Edge with an Internet Explorer feel, even if it feels diluted - like the whole Windows 10 experience. Seriously. When is Microsoft going to learn why so many people don't upgrade? The world could always use more heroes! |

Unfortunately, on multiple occasions, the Pale Moon development team have shown and proven themselves to be petulant children at best. |

As far as browsers go, I keep struggling to choose between Opera and Vivaldi. Both are based on Chromium, but most of the original Opera team is now working on Vivaldi. The current Opera is managed by a group of chinese investors.
That said, the amount of customizability they added in Vivaldi has affected its performance, so Opera still has a much faster UI. Not to mention some of its glitches or missing functionality. That said, Vivaldi v2.0/v2.1 has just been released so I'm willing to give it a try again. "The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear." --Ram Dass |

I guess this is true about Opera then if it's owned by the Chinese (iirc, it's Qihoo and some others - that company gives me the shudders because of their illegitimate ways).
No wonder Opera have recently added things like VPN and other unfitting "tacked-on" features which seems to be a common trait of Chinese-built programs. |

♥11995 ✿4497 ★21 I really don't want to use a Chromium-based browser as I fear a WebKit monoculture thought we learned our lesson when IE6 was really good, so everyone used it, and then Microsoft neglected it for 10,000 years because no one used anything else
I feel like with their record of making poor decisions, though, Mozilla will probably eventually turn Firefox into a real Chrome clone. Ugh. |

Posted by Epele oh, I'm pretty sure Edge is just a hastily refreshed IE. it had too many similar bugs and occurences. enough to make me convinced. |

Posted by Keikisho Actually their VPN was implemented because they had acquired SurfEasy and thought it was easy promotion for both their new VPN service and browser. Now that it's owned by Qihoo and friends, SurfEasy was sold and replaced with a different VPN. What is their new VPN service? Nobody knows. All I know is that I don't trust Qihoo. For XP, there's Maxthon which implements the Chrome 65 engine to my knowledge. However it is owned by the Chinese... |

Today I learned that Opera wasn't using sRGB and that it displayed the color used on the background of my layout as #0037EE instead of #00E.
I had to go to chrome://flags/ and manually set Force color profile to "sRGB" so it actually looked proper to everything else on my computer. Fun. Anyone who uses a Chromium-based browser, you should check if the color it uses for your images are the same as the colors your Operating System uses. Firefox and IE both used the correct colors for me. "The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear." --Ram Dass |
