So I am typically a console gamer and a retrogamer, but my best friend has recently moved to the other side of the country, and she suggested that one way we might be able to keep in touch is by playing online games together... of course, she's a PC type, and suggested I get a machine capable of keeping up as well. And my Apple MacBook evidently isn't going to cut it.

I don't need the most high-end thing on the market I think; she mostly plays games like Overwatch and Cities Skylines, but it would be nice to have something that can stream and won't be a retro machine within a year of buying it. Another issue is space; my office area is really crowded with computers as is.

Her recommendation was one of these pre-built machines based on the Hades Canyon NUC, as it's small and would also spare me the effort, but I was curious if any of you had other suggestions.

I'll see if I can list some some mid range-ish stuff together later.

I would also suggest the AMD Ryzen CPUs if you need a smaller cased computer. They're much more power efficient and generate less heat as a result - so less likely to overheat.

The world could always use more heroes!

I'd suggest AMD over Intel anyway tbh

Intel prices are absurd

Whoops, forgot CPU cooler in that list. Just get something decent and relatively quiet. I'd assume she's not gonna overclock.
