Remember the time, before the Internet went mainstream? When rumors spread by word on schools? Good times. Not.
What are the worst rumors in your opinion? From the games I have played, I can remember these as being particularly bad: * L is real 2401 * Mario's Factory (some stupid SMRPG rumor someone posted on gamefaqs and everyone immediately believed and spread) * Triforce in Ocarina of Time, of course. * Zelda being Link's sister * Any method to get Mew before the glitch was discovered (including the truck, Bill's Secret Garden, ...) |

Just about every single single Pokémon in in the first two generations. "Pikablu" in G1, for example. And the skateboard in G2 -- first thing I did when the Japanese Gold was released, was get a ROM dump and scan it three times over for any graphics that could be used for "travelling by skateboard", just to disprove it.
The rumors lasted for at least another month. |

Except, of course that the truck isn't a sprite, it's environment. I still refuse to believe the horseshit saying that it can be moved.
My favorite Mew rumor, however, is the one where you have to somehow get the Rainbow badge to enable Fly, run into a trainer that was unavoidable on Nugget Bridge, do the hokey pokey then turn yourself around, open the menu before he starts walking toward you, Fly to Lavender, and leave to the west. Supposedly, a level 7 Mew will attack you on the road. |

The whole thing that I don't get is how can you get to Bill's house without fighting the trainer? You need to see Bill to get the SS Ticket to get HM01, which if I'm not mistaken, is necessary to get to Celadon City in the first place. |

Trade, son. You can trade with another game that already has HM01 Cut taught to one of its Pokemon.
Therefore, if you've got a second Gameboy or a friend, the ship is optional. |

Posted by LilianaI almost had the information right. I had only heard about it from my friend that has a very hard time explaining things, and he confused the shit out of me. I never thought it to be important enough to try, since by the time he tried it, I had already left Gen I in the dust, never to be played again. |
