Posted by Darkhero I can't think of a single reason why you would choose the 6800 over the 6809, so even though I don't have any 6800-based machines, I feel alright eliminating that option. While the 6809 is a beast of a processor (current champion of the Nicole Simulator), it's really held back by the fact that pretty much all the consumer machines that use it also use the MC6847 graphics chip, which to call "nothing special" is too much of a compliment. And it's not a coincidence; the two were a deliberate pair. (I know the CoCo 3 exists, but... eh) Really the 6502 (and its minor variations) was in many of the most interesting machines; the Apple ][, the NES, the 8-bit Commodores and Ataris, even the TurboGrafx-16. So it's got to get my vote. It's also the only one of the three I've coded for  |

Er, I mean, useless when they're dead-- they don't have much meat (and you don't want to eat predator meat if you can avoid it, that's a common taboo for good reasons) and their skeleton is mostly weak fragile bones; now as far as I know cat fur is as useful as any other mammal's fur so there is that I suppose. But a dead buffalo is way more useful than a dead cat. An alive cat is pretty useful to have around (they kill the rodents in your grain silo but don't eat your grain) and that's why those societies that held cats in high regard generally held the living cat in high regard. |
