Posted by DanikaWhen I was a kid on another forum there were a couple of regulars who were in their 50s and 60s -- that forum's mostly populated by twenty-somethings now, but it feels more like it's full of crochety old people now than it did back then when it had literal grandparents on it. I've sort of just giving up on feeling old or comparing my age to other people, it just kind of seems like a really good way to make yourself miserable for arbitrary reasons. I wasted most of my twenties feeling like I was doomed and there was no way out so I just did nothing, and I kind of want my thirties to not be that. I feel like I had some kind of reverse midlife crisis or something and now I'm going to live out my 20s. My life is a fuckin mess |

My mom's in her fifties and plays games with friends in Discord servers more than I do.
I can kinda get the feeling of age-range being supposedly wasted. Sometimes I think I wasted my teenage years panicking and isolating myself. But then I remember that's what teenagers do. I don't dwell on it too much. look forward to your 30's though! a lot of the active users here are in that age range, but we're all just nerds at the end of the day |

I don't know if that's the precise shade of meaning I'd use, but during the brief time that I used Mastodon I really did get the sense that people there were out for blood for people who had the wrong opinions or whatever rather than being concerned with doing right or being offended. It's like swimming in a shark tank, except sometimes the sharks are furries Twitter has its set of problems but... they're not quite the same ones but I'm way too sleepy to elucidate what I mean so instead of taking responsibility for what I'm posting I'm just going to leave it hanging and then go brush my teeth. I guess I'm the odd one here since I enjoy Mastodon, but it still has the same problems inherent in any social media site.
