Posted by ThieppyI'll tell you when you're older, dear Posted by DanikaSometimes... I miss the companionship. My old cats that live with my parents really liked to knead the hell out of my lap and they weren't declawed or anything and they didn't understand that it really hurt Posted by KaiIt's fine, I guess, especially now that it's cooled down, thank God. I'm planning on cleaning my room because it's a hideous mess because I haven't cared because I've been too hot to care, so that's my big task for the day, probably. That, and adding some stuff to TCRF, maybe... Posted by Robbie RageUm, that's interesting. I think on Jul you're more likely to get really detailed responses, but on Kafuka it's easier to be conversational and just... post. The group at Jul's definitely tight-knit, but actually making friends over there is hard if you're not already in with the higher-ups, I think. That's been a persistent problem for a while now. Once upon a time I would have definitely said that Jul was the more active of the two, even as recently as last year, but... that's definitely changed. Jul's even deader than it's ever been, which is really depressing. |

There was a local game store that was really cool who actually just closed down earlier this year. All the local businesses here are closing down because the municipal government's decided that fuckin' Wal-Mart and all these fast casual chains are more lucrative. It's sad.
Funcoland, too, although that's going back a bit further. And Radioshack, although they're still not technically defunct per se. (there was one still open across the street until a couple years ago!) |

Posted by DarkheroThat's a tough one... I like the Pokémon games a lot, particularly Gen 7. I like Final Fantasy 9. But actually, I think the original Paper Mario would be the one I'd pick! It's so adorable, and, just, good Posted by KaiI used to frequent a few fansites for a Zelda fangame editor. They're all pretty horrible because the editor is horrible and half of the people are cryptonazis (not right-leaning libertarian dudes, I mean fuckin, openly bigoted guys) Besides that, I used to post on the GameFAQs message boards a lot when I was like 12-13. I was pretty awful at posting. Posted by Danikai'm too poor to understand this question |

Posted by DanikaMine. Just kidding, but that's actually a tough question... um... I think Epele would take the #1 spot. Obviously, there's the bunny, but there's also the pretty spacey purple stars. I really like those. Nicole's is pretty cute too. And I dunno if I'd call it cute, but yours is pretty cool. It reminds me of the bricks in the Windows 95 3D Maze screensaver, which is an aesthetic I really like. (And for all I know the texture could be from there, although it doesn't quite look like it...) Posted by DarkheroI can't really think of any. There's a Radiohead forum that I still kinda wish existed from time-to-time. The people there were pretty cool. I also wish I had the energy to actually devote myself to making that Zelda Classic forum that I was going to make, but, well, that ball's in my court |

Which is more likely, rolling the same number 40 times in a row or flipping a coin and it landing on the same side 100 times in a row? "Miracles happen, when you believe..."

oh god i have to do math to answer this question, don't i
assuming a 6-sided die, a 1/6 chance is still quite a lot smaller than a 1/2 chance and i don't think it can even overcome the lower threshold, so my intuition is to say flipping a coin on the same side 100 times is more likely — but i haven't done the math on that, so it's hardly gospel update: i did the math. assuming my math is not incorrect, the odds of rolling the same number on a six-sided die 40 times are 13,367,494,538,843,734,067,838,845,976,596:1. you'd need to attempt this a little over 13 nonillion times. if we had every single human being on earth keep attempting this for the rest of their lives, roughly, it would barely make a dent in that probability and it still probably wouldn't occur. for comparison's sake, the odds of winning the powerball are 292,000,000:1. i think this is what statisticians call "statistically impossible" meanwhile, the odds of flipping a coin 100 times in a row and having it land on the same side every time are "only" 1,267,650,600,228,229,401,496,703,205,375:1. i.e. you technically have way higher odds of flipping a coin and having it land on the same side 100 times in a row. it's also still statistically impossible. |
