Posted by Danika I had to think about this one, but I will say...yes, but not by much. CT's art direction feels way more timeless due to Toriyama's influence, and the story and gameplay feels way more "complete" and state of the art for the time. FF7, while cutting edge and indisputably influential to the genre, features gameplay that seems outdated compared to later games in the series, obviously dated graphics, and a style of storytelling that I believe has started the modern Square-Enix trend of replacing a compelling narrative with pretentious yet stylish melodrama. Come at me. |
