OG 7 isn't that good, honestly the remake demo's probably a better one to start with. original is tedious and boring and sucks at communicating its aesthetic & story lol. but if you're gonna play the original i think it's better to play one with a translation that's not the original 1997 one, that translation is ass

6 and 9 are really the better FFs if you go in for the story-heavy ones, they've aged a lot better
if you want that Classic RPG Gameplay, 5 ain't too bad (probably 4 too, i haven't played it yet...)

Path of Radiance for the gamecube, it's the most "normal" FE imo. Good story good characters. Not my favorite but it's near and dear to me.
