I hope this won't turn out into one of those British vs. American wars. I just want to ask a straightforward question!

What English variety would you use?

I would position myself in there, but given that I speak mostly Mid-Atlantic, I'm in the middle ^_^

I use mostly American... though New England English (...) is supposed to be one of the closer dialects to British, I guess... (I don't really have a Boston accent, sadly enough)

There's always a tumbleweed out there that'll cause one.

British, 'cause it's the one I know natively.

And some of my speech habits have gone into my typing.. if y'know what I mean. <_<

This goes the opposite way for me. I caught myself saying "gods damn it" earlier today.

I seem to go both ways in that regard... I say "oh gods" all the time now IRL, but whatever. :P

When I speak English out loud, it's American English, with little to no Dutch accent, and the occasional Britishism. Also memes, mostly Homestuck.

I speak how I type. As in a cut off the ends of some words, normally ones that end with -ing, I add weird letters to my words or say em differently (em, dood, peoples), and all that. I talk like an American I guess.... but not like a southerner. I gots no specific accent.

I typically speak American English with a few Britishisms thrown in every so often, I dunno why I do it, though.

Everyone speaks with their own flavour. If ya don't.. well, you've got a pretty plain way of talking.

Indeed. Speaking the same way everyone else does is somewhat boring.

but what am I to complain, me whose English dialect is an exact copy of Rarity's
