I'll go with Hercules; the Hercules graphics mode was the first PC standard that wasn't made by IBM, and the only one to have aggressively non-square pixels. (Okay I guess MDA pixels weren't square but the whole point of Hercules was that MDA didn't let you address pixels, so who cares) Also apparently the Hercules name is now associated with PC DJ controllers? Brand name journeys are strange |

I've heard this hurt the Lisa in particular because it meant that it wasn't as suitable for desktop publishing (the industry whose early adoption that saved the Mac), but it definitely gave it a distinctive look, along with the angled fonts. |
