@Trapster: Meteor was only classified as a Time spell in Tactics (classic)... In Tactics (advance) it was a Sage spell. Every other instance, it's been black.

@Nicole: Why would I be the save poi-- *thinks about FFIX*

I see what you did there.

It's classified as a Time spell in FFV too, I believe. I haven't played FFT.

Now that I think about it, yeah it was...

I haven't played FFT.
You should. Play the original for PSOne if anything. It's pretty cheap on the PSN, or pretty easy to emulate.

Why can I not believe I never finished FFV?

Of support magic, do you prefer party buffs or enemy debuffs?

Good offense- I'd prefer to blow my opponent away than to wear them down bit by bit.

Uh... No.

I made it to where Galuf died, and lost interest because it really seemed unfitting that his replacement (his granddaughter?) picked up ALL OF HIS SKILLS! It was weird having a seven year old be a fucking Paladin.

FF5 was a game where it always felt like the plot and the gameplay just happened to coexist in the same game. :P

Why does that strike me as bad story writing?

I would say it's more emblematic of a certain approach to game design- treating the game and story as separate entities.

Gameplay and story segregation is one thing, but FFV really took a stretch as far as suspension of disbelief goes. You know what I mean?

Well, another way to put it: in a game that in it's final form Square apparently considered too difficult for release in the US, you're complaining that the game doesn't make you re-level a character. :P

You're talking to the guy that is deliberately overpowering himself in a different Final Fantasy game to make an otherwise useless ability viable about the pointlessness of grinding in an RPG. How does that make sense?

Why does every game publisher automatically make assumptions about the difficulty level of a particular game for a specific region?

Well, you seem to be implying I hate grinding when my favorite RPG is Phantasy Star II... :p

Well, I mean, translation is a lot of work, so you have to make sure you get your money's worth I guess...

OBJECTION!

Super Mario Bros 2 had no storyline, but it wasn't released outside of Japan until the Allstars compilation on SNES.
