♥13926 ✿4708 ★52 Posted by DarkWitchClaire Not in ages; I remember they used to have shelves upon shelves of them at anime conventions, but I haven't been to one of those in awhile; it seems like the cheapo market has moved on to emulator consoles like the RetroN-5. NOAC clones are inherently better and more accurate because they're a real, transistor-level simulation of the original NES hardware, like an FPGA but not field programmable. Surely being "hardware simulation" inherently makes it better. Posted by ゼンガー・ゾンボルト Posted by Danielle yes |

♥13927 ✿4708 ★52 Posted by Danielle It is! It's also neat how they partnered with so many companies, even IBM, to sell rebranded chips. Real shame they couldn't keep up with the Commodore Intel and AMD. |

♥13929 ✿4708 ★52 Posted by Danielle My old Pentium got really bad near the end; back in those days just connecting a Windows 98 PC to the internet got you viruses, let alone actually browsing... the wild west Posted by DarkWitchClaire I haven't played one of the games in the series in ages so I can't give a particular one, but I'll say Golden Tee; yeah the Neo Geo golf games are both good, but how do you compare to that feeling of getting to spin a trackball and just watch it spin? Genius idea. I've been tempted to get the Arcade1up version even though that's a ton of space for a game that objectively I won't play that often. ♥13935 ✿4708 ★52 Posted by Danielle Assuming by classic Macintosh you mean the "all-in-one Compact Macintosh" style, I think I'll say the Macintosh SE. I don't like its design very much; the SE/30 has the same design but at least it has the benefit of being the fastest of the model. Now, the funny thing is my favorite of the line is the Macintosh Classic, which is basically identical to the SE technically, but I have nostalgia for its design since I remember using them in school |

♥13936 ✿4708 ★52 Posted by DarkWitchClaire Sure, I could definitely see myself buying a Performa. Maybe a Performa 275? Posted by Danielle I think I used a 5200 or 5300 back in school at one point; definitely remember it being "alright" at going online, though Low End Mac says these models were unusable going on the internet... Though I would have been used to dialup at the time, so my standards were not high |
