Shippers are pretty much ignored by the showrunners, though. And in return, canon ships are mostly ignored by the fans.

Did the official CheeriMac accomplish anything? No. It just pissed off the more steadfast ***Mac shippers and got ignored by the rest.

Now, CheeriMac wasn't a "proper" canon ship by virtue of being a love potion, the Ship Tease at the end notwithstanding since that was aimed primarily at the Crusaders. Shining Armor and Cadence, though? Or even the Cakes?

Even RariBlue got more fandom shipping than them, and all the gala episode did was change the fanfics into Fix Fics!
