Come to think of it, a lot of the Gen I Pokemon suffered from that.

Sure. Gen I Pokemon generally had a terrible moveset. You were pretty much forced to use TMs to make your mons be able to do more than prod.

The only real good thing about him is his ability to learn Earthquake or Magnitude.

Which is precisely why everything that could learn Surf and Strength did know Surf and Strength... The two best reusable moves. The only problem was not being able to get rid of them.

On topic: Got Girafarig.

The palindromically named Pokemon that aside from almost having no weaknesses, was completely useless.

That face is scary. But if you teach it the right moves it's actually pretty good, although stats are still a bit shitty.

Fly was my favorite first-gen Pokémon HM move... sure, it took two turns, but it was usually reliable for a decent chunk of damage. (And you were up in the air one of the turns anyway)

For me it was probably Flash or Strength. Both great moves to have for a cave. Especially for Heart Gold.

I hated fighting Will in Pokemon Stadium 2, because I relied on Shadow Ball to fight him... He knew I had it, and kept switching out when I was going for it... The AI is a cheating bastard like that.

There are actually three Pokemon (ignoring the fact that one is a three stage evolution line) that have no weaknesses, but only two of them can be cheated to have their ability changed to Wonder Guard and still retain being untouchable. Sableye (shitty all around) and Spiritomb (hurt severely by its lacking move pool) are untouchable without being identified. Electross, on the other hand, is weaknessless because of being a Levitating Electic-type... Gravity, Gastro Acid, Worry Seed, and Entrainment are just a few examples of how to fuck him up.

I never liked Fly/Dig/Solarbeam (without sun)/Dive/etc because they're two turn attacks.

I blame the metagame.

Sableye is just really fucking annoying. Especially on XD in the final area where you get the Legendary Birds, it's a bitch to catch, especially if you're going for all of the Pokemon. Stupid Purifier.

They came and gone for me. Now since I'm stuck with barely anymore, they are never gonna come for a long while. :(
