"Well...." Caionna begins, in response to Natalie, "I don't want to go in to try to reclaim the realm, I just want to go on a rescue mission. I'm worried for them."

Turning to Anya, she says, "I don't think leaving immediately would be a good idea. I feel we should take some time to make preparations and ensure that we can handle whatever is thrown at us."

((Ooops, thought I posted in here but I didn't. Guess it was in my head.))

I decide to walk over to a round table with three chairs around it. Sitting down causes the chair to creek slightly.

"Just let me know when you guys are ready. For now, what does a girl have to do to get a drink around here?"

A glass cup is placed on the table, filled with liquor. The person who placed it down, is Kyle.

"The note brought you to a Pub?" he laughs.

"Hey, this time it is the truth."

Bel: I could protect the party with shields or barriers unless someone else here is more capable than me at that. But I can't guarantee that whatever attacked Caionna's realm wouldn't pierce them like a knife through butter. I got one in particular than can take just about anything but only lasts for a couple of hits. Most useful to block more powerful stuff.

And assuming we manage to get Zissou and Zarik, what if this force manages to close off our way back?

Kyle sits at the table next to me. Before he can utter a word, I place my hand up, silencing him. I shake my head in disagreement. As I got older, I tried to move people away from using magic made portals, especially when we started to learn that they can cause a drug-like obsession in certain people. The need to have that sort of power in a bottle started to be too much for some people. Granted, this started the breakdown of Vane Magic Industries and another ripple for the United Portal Corp, but it had to be done. Being a natural portal user and able to tap into the Void, I don't get the same high or need that we've seen in other people. It would be an easy way out of any situation if we brought portal potions with us, but I didn't want to risk it. There's also the matter of Celestria, our personal healer. We could bring her along for the ride, but we might be in for lectures along the way. She's like a sister to me, but Celestria can be a pain.

I take a drink, thinking over if I should mention again that we do have a healer. The more the better, of course, but I hate having to repeat myself. Granted, a lot of stuff has been going on during the few minutes of my arrival, so I should be more understanding.

Noticing Kyle, Caionna glances him over quickly to get a feel for him. Realizing he's a friend of Anya, she surmises that he is trustworthy and nods to him with a warm and welcoming smile.

Hearing Bel speak up, she turns her attention to him and replies, "A powerful shield spell might draw attention to us... From what I was able to gather from them, the enemy can sense even the most minute uses of magic and hone in on the source. Which, if you think about it, would defeat any and all purpose to any type of concealment magics.

"As for a way in and out..." She pauses momentarily to think of her phrasing, as to not imply she can read the minds of the others, "... But, I believe our new friends might have the solution we may be looking for."

In an attempt to preempt any implied hostility, she casts a short whisper spell to Anya stating, "So sorry to intrude on you like that, but I have a strong feeling that you, in fact, have what we need."

Only those with either extremely sensitive hearing or strong enough magic will be able to hear the message, other than the two women.

Bel: Er, I wouldn't need to use any barriers unless we're attacked. And speaking of sensing magic, did you catch anything of their abilities and/or what the source of their powers might be? Could've sworn I asked that before but it must've slipped my mind.

Awaiting Caionna's response, Bel catches wind of her whisper spell, or rather, part of it (because of Caionna's increased powers), due to his extensive hearing. However, it's enough to enable him to piece together the missing parts.

(I don't think you need to worry about her taking offense, Cai. You're as nice as they come. They don't know you that well yet, though.)

Meanwhile, the mage is trying to figure out what the most effective way of concealing themselves might be, without the use of magic or magical items.

"Now, um, what kind of magic exactly are we talking here when you say it hunts out even the most minute uses of it? Any kind? Just standard arcane? Because there's a million different flavors of stuff that could be considered 'magic'," Natalie says.

She takes a moment to visually illustrate her point by summoning a small ball of white light, easily identifiable as running off divine-class energy.

"And if it doesn't think of this as magic, then, well..."

I jump up in my chair slightly at the sound of another voice in my head...again. Not a fan of having a voice in my head, considering my past, even if it is from a friendly.
