The landing for the rover on Mars should be happening around 1:30am, give or take a few minutes or an hour. There's coverage (that I know) via XBL NASA TV and NASA.com and you can check out this nifty thing as Curiosity gets closer to Mars. Hopefully it will land safely.

I was looking around on NASA's website a few minutes ago and couldn't find the UStream link, so I had to google it. Would've helped if I knew it was called UStream though, might have been able to use Ctrl+F. Oh well.

I'm excited for it. I'd like for it to discover something BIG.

I'm trying to watch it, but it seems to be impossible to install Java to my Firefox. It keeps telling me there was "an error" downloading it (with no other details).

Huzzah! Curiosity landed safely and out multi-billion dollar project is not a waste! :D

I literally tuned in right as they announced, "WE HAVE TOUCH DOWN!" and then there was hugging. Metric fuck tons of hugging.

Yes. I hope so as well. It's seems most of the knowledge gathering and education parts are just getting ravaged here in the states. Education is very important, and yet they can never get levies passed let alone support for space exploration. (Which at least get some even if it's not as much as it used to be)
