I'm asking we add a per-page (using default posts per page) youtube embed limit to threads, since it really sucks to open a thread and the sheer volume of YT embeds makes the page much slower. I can barely view page 1 of the video game music thread because of this. ____________________ board2: board harder|KAFUKA - Got post?|Opera - Try it today! Might be a royal pain in the rear. What would happen if the YouTubes per page goes over the limit mid-page?
Also, I don't personally feel any slowdown.. but for all I know, my system might be superior/configured differently The world could always use more heroes! |

Probably, it's just a hassle to try and view the videogame music thread and have it be so slow, you know? ____________________ board2: board harder|KAFUKA - Got post?|Opera - Try it today! Maybe if ABXD-style spoiler buttons are added, these could be reused for the youtube tags.
The name of the video could be extracted, and placed in a button on the page. When you click it, Flash Player loads (which is clearly the culprit here), and you get the video. ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |

It might be a combination of OS X, Opera, and Steve Jobs hating on flash.
Lion does not come with Flash pre-packaged and I'm currently using a plugin. ____________________ board2: board harder|KAFUKA - Got post?|Opera - Try it today! Posted by Kiyoshi Similar concept to my flashblock plugin (which loads YouTube due to settings). I forgot how much of a bitch flash player can be at times. :/ A delay-load wouldn't be bad to be honest. The world could always use more heroes! |

Opera has "enable plug-ins on demand" which I find very useful on my netbook.
It substitutes a Flash Object with a large Play button, and loads the actual object when you click it. ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |

I share this sentiment. My computer almost committed seppuku when I tried to load that page. Perhaps since it varies per user (computer diversity) it should be something we ought to disable altogether in favor of [youtube] tags to allow us to properly limit links per page. The user would be able to specify a max amount allowed per page if they are having issues like CC and I are.
I'd suggest that the tag should link the youtube video's home as well as show the actual video. For links past the link limit, only show the link itself, so you can still access it. |

Posted by KP9000 Might be better with a click-to-view style that swaps a placeholder image with the actual embeded video once clicked.. The world could always use more heroes! |

Posted by GywallIt would be awesome if the <title> is extracted from the page, and shown in the image/button.Posted by KP9000 If there is a quick way to do this, of course. ____________________ I don't give a flying feather |
