For one, this is a bit related to Windows but whatever. Sticky keys is about the dumbest thing ever. Every installation I do or computer I go to on the Campus I go to deactivate that useless feature. It causes me nothing but problems with games and I like using shift often.

What are some other keyboard annoyances you've faced? You can also mention anything someone else brought up and share stories relating to them.

There's the "magic keyboard", where the Ü key caused the computer to shut down. >_>

Other than that, well... I hate it when you can't press multiple buttons, which you sometimes have to do on emulators. A real pain.

Yeah, there seems to be a real limitation annoyance with like 4 keys in a certain circuit rows of the keyboard. This is pretty much why I want to get a controller but I haven't really had the time to find me a good one. I've actually had a key near my esc key that WOULD shut down the freaking computer without question so I ended up pulling it out. There were a few other annoying keys on this computer I ended up pulling out but forgot what they do.

This is an annoyance I find too :(
I couldn't pass a certain area in Chrono Trigger on the SNES because I neede to push more than 3 buttons, and my computer only allows 2 buttons to be pressed at the same time.

(then I found out I could map the buttons onto a single key, or better yet, to have a gamepad)

Other than that, I hated when a keyboard I used to have had a "half moon" button, which caused the PC to go to sleep mode, and it was placed in an awkward place so I ended pressing it a lot.

For me it's more of a fat-finger issue when I accidentially hit the ' and the enter key at the same time. Same goes for using control and tapping the Windows key as well. Doh!

My new computer came with a wireless keyboard and mouse that would often screw up or lag, etc. (even after trying different batteries), such as giving repeated keystrokes (like "trtrtr", etc.) so I decided to put those away and plug in the keyboard/mouse from my old computer instead :P

Aside from that, I hate when I accidentally press \ or ' trying to hit Enter (yet, I do manage to do that regardless of what shape Enter key it is :()

Two Keyboard annoyances I've faced in my life. I'll do the simpler one first: I sometimes have my fingers a little to the right, so I hit the enter key when I try to his '. It's always the most annoying when I'm triyng to say "I'm", because I just send "O".

Main annoyance: Keyboards breaking. My old keyboard broke in such a way that the A, B, and N keys (along with a few minor keys like ~ and the left shift" did not work. I got some water in it and it broke only those keys. So I've bought a LOT of USB keyboards in order to actually be able to type. However, USB keyboards are frail creatures. The wire gets frayed very often. They're not THAT expensive, the cheapest being about ten bucks, but it's still aggravating.

My current keyboard is in that state of "It's broken but still useable". I have to use it because my main laptop keyboard is broken (I had to open up the laptop and now the keyboard won't work ever since I took it out once). When I move the laptop or wire even a LITTLE bit, it doesn't work, and I gotta jostle it or plug it back in. It's quite annoying, especially in the middle of games. TRUST ME.

I sometimes end up hitting the up arrow as opposed to shift on this keyboard. Oh, and then the fact I've tried to play a game that required you to press Down + PageDown.. which isn't physically possible on this keyboard.

I also hit Enter instead of ' a lot. Dumb placement of the ' key.

Speaking of which, I had a lot of trouble with keyboards when I was in Germany. The letters Y and Z are switched around relative to English keyboards, so I'd often mix up words with a Y or Z in them. Also, for some reason the left Shift key is half its normal size to make room for some other key (I think it was > or something), screwing up my attempts to capitalize words with my left hand.

My other bad experience was when I made the mistake of buying a rubber keyboard. I thought it'd be nice for being spill- and crumbproof since I eat at the computer, but it was a piece of crap to type on. Even the slightest touch of a key was registered as a keystroke, so I'd have a lot of accidental keystrokes peppering my text. The Shift key stuck, so I'd TYpe LIke THis a lot.

My old netbook (which I eventually came to dislike enough that I literally gave it away for nothing) had an awful keyboard with a small-sized (the size of a letter key) shift key next to the up arrow... so many times I hit up instead of shift... (this was only the beginning of the issues with that machine, of course)

On the IRC I sometimes hit enter trying to hit ' as well. Sometimes while typing a message I hit enter instead of shift and sometimes the other way around. :o "Darn it, why won't this message not se- oh, that's why." " Wait, no! I didn't mean to send yet!"

I use a keyboard like that anyway.. Just the shift key is a little bit bigger than a letter.

It takes a lot of learning how to type on such a keyboard.. But it also needs to factor in the size of a keyboard. I've used a lot of compact keyboards.. which can have really horrible layouts. This one's a bit unusual. Google up a Keysonic KSK-6000u if you want details. >_>
