Does it assume PHP? Is there a way to specify which language is being used?
Also, it doesn't seem to preserve spaces, which seems odd. Example:

I am not sure exactly myself. I'll assume PHP but I'd need to take a closer look.
And when I revamp bbcode and add my improved system, it will take space properly because having no space is annoying to me. |

Make sure it allows you to select which language (incl. plain text aka none) you want it to highlight for (ie: [code=PHP] etc). |

And, of course, it should default to no language. See the IRC logs to see how the syntax highlighting makes them look pretty amusing. |

It doesn't preserve whitespaces because it isn't in <pre> . Also, I think what is done is generalized highlighting that attempts to match as many languages as possible. no is a keyword in Perl, so I think this is why it's highlighted (but bless is keyword too...). |
